No, dreadknights are this walking pile of derp
That's what I said.. The Grey knight baby carrier.

Either way I'm liking what i'm seeing! I don't know why everyone is complaining about the graphics but all it's reminding me of is the whole fest over Diablo 3

Angelos seems like he has a new VA though.

Funny, because it seems to look and play like Diablo 3. Which is pretty much the king of boring, mindless ability spam right now.

What I thought was a lifebar seems to be a heat/ammo or cooldown meter. It didn't zero with rockets, or stop it firing when maxxed. It did zero with the orbital laser though, or so it seemed. So is that baby's ultimate?

Orbital laser is linked to knight tech?

Which type of knight is it, if you think it's a knight? It matches no type of knight I'm aware of in TT or lore.

It exactly matches the weapon layout and configuration of a reaver titan. It even seems to have multiple void shields under its life bar. It's just a little one.

Maybe it's due to gameplay concerns, maybe it's not a finished asset or was to help show off other units too, but that there is a baby reaver titan.

I've been playing GW stuff for over 25 years. I love Epic, and geekily read a tonne of background stuff. Other than the scale, it's a reaver titan. A baby one. Prove me wrong.
Uhh... okay...

In a hands-off gameplay demo, we saw the Marines’ Imperial Knight Solaria and her powerful abilities. Using both the Gatling gun and the missile functions of her Imperial Knight form, she is able to clear the field around her using a steady, powerful bullet spray or launch a directional missile offense at multiple enemies at once with damage escalation.

To do this, its introducing the Imperial Knights and Wraithknights, which Relic describes as the series' "biggest units ever."

The designers talk about Dawn of War 3 armies in terms of line and elite units. Line units deliver continuous damage and try not to die; elite units deliver decisive strikes. Certain combinations of elite units will suit rush strategies, others will be more powerful lategame options. For example, returning Space Marine hero Gabriel Angelos is a close combat master that gives you a lot of power right away, so you might want to give another slot to a late-game ranged monster like the Imperial Knight.

I still like my theory. Just because it's wrong is besides the point. To my flawed knowledge, knight crusaders looked nothing like that. But it appears that now they do. The benefits of getting old.

Although admittedly, there was only one gatling arrangement on the megabolter and it wasn't stooped enough for a normal reaver.

I'd still rather a baby reaver than a single knight, but they'd be about the same in narrative terms of writing them into the backstory of the game.

The orbital laser being a cooldown for it pointed to something better than a random knight, so perhaps he's a seneschal story-wise. Not that knights aren't powerful individuals, but it's odd that they'd be calling down laser bombardments instead of the space marines themselves (or a titan). Could be wrong about that being the cool down bar as well. I have been known to be wrong before :)

edit: incidentally, the 25yrs of lore stuff was more-so to say "I know what a knight is and the lore behind them", not "I know all". The wonders of the internet and its beautiful lack of tone conveyance. Apparently I didn't know what a knight looks like these days. Nor did I do one bit of background research into the topic/game. Hazy memories from your childhood are the best kind. Also, the best way of being wrong is when someone thinks you give a fuck, and they do. It saves a lot of research, and tends to lead to more correct knowledge.

My German is extremely rusty, but from what I can tell the trailer's narrator doesn't say anything too new. Mostly repeats what's already in the announcements - who's in the game, some stuff about the special abilities, the Knight, base building, Drop Pods and so on.

If you look a bit more carefully, you can see it was used through Gabriel Angelos, being a Chapter Master would give him access to it as you can also hear him call down the Dauntless

The Eldar called and said Human War Walkers look stupid.
... actually, y'know. That thing kinda' looks like it could have came out of Exosquad. And I can respect that. That one in particular could use some work, but the general aesthetic can be pretty a'ight.

Overall disappointed so far. Looks more like a moba game than a DoW. Also, how it seams  they are removing kill movies/animations.

Oh wow, you're right. I don't see any finishers, even between normal units. That's kind of a deal-breaker to me. I'm not even kidding.

So, Dawn of War 3's brighter, more cartoony art style had me a little worried at first. But I get the trade-off: by switching the game's look, Relic is able to create a gameplay feel that's more modern, that's more in-line with the expectations of the millions who play MOBAs every day. It's a design decision.

Oh dear.
