Titans aren't part of the Space Marine inventory, though. And I think people might notice if the Blood Ravens stoleacquired an Emperor-class Titan.

I really hope they do it like DoW 1 with base building and a lot of units, and not do it the DoW 2 way, that I hated.

Also how do we know it will be DoW3  and not just another DLC hero for DoW2 or something else?

I hope that the Guard are in it, but that the game plays totally different from any other faction if you're the Guard. So the SM are off capping points with jump infantry and making their lightning death strikes with tactical squads while the Guard player slowly creeps out an entire front-line with fortifications and trenches.

Like if the SM were playing dow2 and the guard were playing CoH crossed with a quartermaster.

I hope they either go back to DoW1 numbers and mortality rates or make a squad-level tactics game where your units can die and ain't replacable. Like a real-time Chaos Gate. DoW2 previews made it sound like the latter, something along the lines of "every unit lost will matter!", but really it ended up being MOBA level boring, with 4-5 overpowered, immortal hero units murdering hordes of enemy scrubs with cooldown abilities, culminating in a horribly boring HP drain match with a bullet sponge.

Base building I'm ambiguous about. Normally I'm not a fan of it, but DoW1 made it bearable by making the buildings fragile enough not to waste everybody's time. On the other hand, MoW's maps with endless reinforcements turned into a slog for me, though that might be the fault of other factors (such as having to baby sit units that couldn't resupply automatically in a game where you control like up to a hundred units). I'd be fine with either done right.

I personally find base-building very tedious. Especially in single-player, having to research every upgrade and build up the tech tree every single mission was just kind of annoying by the end. But I don't think DoW2 was right either.

From the perspective of someone who only ever played co-op comp-stomps I loved the base building. I also grew up on LOTR:BFME II so the base building feels like home to me. Normally I despise building, but the fact that you can build anywhere on the map adds great flexibility. Nothing like building a Forward Operating Base as imperial guard only to have it encircled in the shifting tides of war and spend 2/3rds of the game defending its three or four resource points.

I thought I was the only one who enjoyed playing co-op against a computer, it's kinda what keeps me from playing games like this (along with being terrible at them).

I think I said this in another thread, but I would love to see a DOW game sort of played like Wargame. 10 vs 10 matches over several kilometers² of terrain, having things like artillery and air assets be actual units that exist on the map... heck, they have a deck system that's similar to having your own army on a points system.

TITAAAAAANS

I hope for IG to be in at start. Otherwise, hard to say anything yet. They might be going for a generally larger scale, judging by the TITAAAANS. Ooh.

Trailer out. On phone so can't share.

3 races. Campaign alternates between them. Characters are Angelos, Macha and Gorgutz. Also titans.

They're called Knights aren't they? Do they get included in the titan class? I thought the smallest titan was the Warhound class.

I liked the visuals in the cinematic. Having the Eldar wraithbone actually look like bone was a neat touch. I am interested in how Dawn of War III will differentiate itself from the previous two rather than being a graphical update.

Maybe they could have something like in "Universe at War" where each faction has a very different style of playing. Break up from the usual "each faction has a barracks, research building, vehicle bay, etc etc". I would also like to see one on the scale of "Supreme Commander". Would be very nice with artillery and thunderhawks for deployment over a huge map but I don't think it'll be that large.

Ultimate apocalypse had nice titans though. Not sure if they were fully correctly to scale, but then again little in that game was (transports being way too small and such).

A funny way to incorporate true-scale titans might be to have them be a map objective of sorts. 1 Side has to hold a number of thingies against a clock (representing the titan approaching, which should be visibly walking closer in the background), when it runs out they get to fire the titan's weapons to obliterate the opposition from the map.

That doesn't seem too right, how is a Predator comparable in size to a Baneblade??
