"Hm. There are numerous examples, real and fictional, that we could base our systems off of in my memory.

The first that comes to mind is that magic is essentially a field that permeates the entire universe. Its energy can be leveraged to violate the normal laws of physics, either through a combination of inborn ability and willpower, or careful study of its eddies and flows. Casting more than the most basic spells is fatiguing to the mind and body, and high level spells would exhaust the user. Additionally, magic is divided into several schools based on how it influences the world, including but not limited to evocation, abjuration, illusion, and necromancy.

The second is a bit more interesting and flexible. Magic is sourced from one, infinite source of power that some individuals are born with a connection to. It is filtered into five elements; Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Spirit, and threads of these are woven together to produce the desired effect. Every weave has the same result every time it is performed correctly, though certain actions - such as unraveling an existing one - can be quite chaotic indeed. One may be born with the innate ability to channel this power and will do so regardless of teaching, born with the ability to learn, or insensitive to it, and each person has a different raw capacity for the power. The original version was also divided into male and female halves, though I would be in favor of discarding this."

"I propose we set up a system of nodes and ley lines all over existance. These ley lines will be similar in behaviour to water, following the best path for its course, but with the right hand you could also change the flow of the ley lines. Nodes should be created associated to godly spheres and therefore produce divine energies based on the god's sphere who created the node. Nodes should generically appear as ponds or lakes with weird qualities unless the god who created the node decides to cosmetically change that. In the future it should be possible to create new effects for nodes

I think the cost of a node should depend on its size.
Tiny - 150mē in size 2kmē area of affection. Cost 1 Essence
Small - 500mē in size. 12kmē area of affection Cost 2 Essence
Medium 1000mē in size. 27kmē area of affection. Cost 4 Essence
Big  10000mē in size. 330kmē area of affection. Cost 8 Essence
Large 100000mē in size. 4000kmē area of affection. cost 16 Essence.

With the right effort and proper discipline, the mortals could learn to draw the energies of the spheres and develop magic systems on their own, or you could teach them how to use magic."

"Because right now everything is chaos. This system does not exclude further magic systems in the future, but it facilitates the implication magic that all can use without going into too thorough detail. This should help to create a proper order and also help the being that calculates."
