No, Neumann was designed. He was not simply brute forced into *action*. Races can grow and develop with essence. Actions do not always require essence, agents can be made with assistance and can grow and develop themselves, as well.

Could someone educate me more about nodes? I've read what information is available in the Tick update but I still have some questions.

Does the size of the node affect the intensity of the powers given or just the area of effect?
Can a god choose what effect the node has if it creates it?
Can the effect of the node be changed by that god?
Can nodes be enlarged? Is the cost to enlarge the difference between the sizes or the full price?

In order: I was under the impression the effect was to provide a source of magical power to draw from in regards to schools of magic.

Effect being magical power, but as Stirk did with his proposal, there doesn't seem to be limitations on what quite the leyline is (in his case, ores that could be smelted and fashioned into equipment)

I'm not saying I don't like good RP flavour, but to say anything in this game doesn't book down to application of Essence is incorrect. Some people are just a bit less creative when it comes to this application.

I was going to have a moving node, personally. As you say, the rules don't oppose it. If anyone has issues with that... proposals, I guess.

1. Just area of effect.
2. No, aside from cosmetic effects. They are effected by spheres, however.
3. No, see above.
4. Probably, given the current rules that allow for essence-based creations to be edited.

No, the current rules mention that it has to be only cosmetic differences. Being able to move is a non-cosmetic effect.

My point is that the application of Essence needs to be creative. It needs to be more than just flat numbers, and you damn well know it. Otherwise it's not roleplaying, it's not even Diplomacy level intrigue, it's just deciding who you're against and who you're for.

In past games, it wasn't possible to kill gods without specific weaponry. It is very possible this is just a massive waste of essence :P.

Well, there's this box, right next to it it says "Search". If you type in 'Traits', hit enter, and skim a bit, you should find the list of currently approved traits.

Or, you know, it's literally on the first page of the thread, Andres. How long did you look for it before asking? How many minutes did it take before you decided you would just ask instead?

No it's not. The closest thing to it are the base costs for creations. I also checked the OP of the IC and the last Tick update but the only thing there are the traits that are being voted on and Innate magic.
