You don't have any perk letting you take way to many items.

You can have 3 Equips and 5 items, 2 Equips and 7 items, or 1 Equip and 9 items. At least, according to Shadestyle.

I didn't actually look; I was thinking if you looked at Sanure's sheet and their way, way to many items then it was probably similar.

Can I sacrifice two items and get a fourth equip? I'll probably give up the tent and salves (redundant because Lillian and the other alchemist can heal that way and Shina is a healer herself) to keep either the Edo Shortsword or the Prayer Tags (which I'd rather keep for Cleric purposes).

I'm going to assume that they're supposed to be able to do two things, but they do them weaker.

I mean, mostly Caderyn just gains the ability to use bows to deal even more DEE PEE ASS rather than getting heals or an animal companion or something.

Yes, but think about it, Shina can't really do a bit of everything without shitting on herself, because she has to devote at least 2 points per level to both Dex AND Cha to keep them up (as she needs them for Ranger damage and Cleric skills) and she always has to divide between Ranger and Cleric skills, thus not being able to specialise like a pure Ranger or a pure Cleric.

Which, in hindsight, is pretty shitty, but hey, at least you have a secondary healer who can fight.
