Well more Geliebte has heard that people are actively trying to hunt and kill this person and she sympathize's with the ice dragon and she'd definitely prefer not to hurt Taro's it's just her own ethics and her duty and she will fight for what she believes is right.

Read through the thread it's the dragon thing that Geliebte and beohtric talked to well one Geliebte if she was privy to the it killed people information would assume it was in self defense it's a lot harder to want to kill something when you meet and sympathize with it plus the church is hiding it clearly for a reason and she's inclined to trust the church.
