Cataclysm: DDA on Bay 12 (4/4)
« on: April 25, 2016, 03:12:01 pm »

Welcome to this little test game. It's gonna be set in the C:DDA world, this means you'll probably be able to become a badass cyborg driving around on your Doom-Maker 5000, all that while your automatic laser turrets destroy every zombie in sight. Feel free to leave suggestions on how to make the Charsheet better!

I'm grabbing a spot and asking if i can use modded Professions?

I want to use the Medieval Stuffs horse archer profession.
Oh and how many stat points do we get?

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

You can be one, but this is just cataclysm inspired so there aren't all these stats.

10 stat points.

Would "bear mutant" be a profession?

You didn't include where you start up in the scenario, but I'm guessing a shelter.

Strenght: 2
Dexterity: 5
Intelligence: 1
Perception: 2

Traits: Flight response: When faced with a fight, +50% movement speed if running away; -50% movement speed when fighting hand to hand
Parkour!: Removes the movement penalty on terrain in urban areas
Talc fist: Has -50% damage when attacking hand to hand
Sniper: Gains +4 perception when holding a gun with a scope

Profession: Freerunner
Hmm, what scenario is "Experiment"? Also, I suggest you take off parkour as it might be kind of useless.

I just used the trait-point-system that's already in-game for my traits. Hopefully it's balanced enough for this.
Da Rules say that you must put as many negative traits as there are positive ones. Otherwise, I'll start you up with a cocaine addiction or something.

Experiment is where you start in the forest, you have a shirt and boxers. That's it.

Also revised the sheet.

As many? Rules lawyer mode activate.

Positive trait: Reality Warper
Negative trait: Somewhat lazy
... although it does say in the OP, "Try not to give yourself crazy good positive traits and meaningless bad traits at the same time", that's only "Try not to".

That said, the GM's word is law. So you can and should just veto such abuses of the rules.

Alright then. I was more so just seeing if you were okay with me using the point system, but if you're not okay with it, then that's fine. As Fallacy said, GM's word, is indeed law.
Edited.

Yeah, this is only a test game after all. The more I think about a game based on C:DDA the worse the idea sounds. But who cares right? It's too late to go back.

No- Cataclysm seems like a great setting to me. And there's plenty of time to go back. But-
You know what I say? Improve. My first game on the forums was funny, but horrid in comparison to what I've run more recently.

So if you want to do this, go ahead. I can even help you with the game design(and some of the running, potentially) if you'd like. But if you don't want to do this, I've got a few ideas that I've been pushing around- and I'd be happy to help you run any one of them. Every game that gets run here is less boredom for me and everybody else.
