Candygal takes a few moments to visibly compose herself.
"just don't talk to me unless you have something important to say or something you need or you are apologizing."

"Looks like we won't be speaking ever again, then."

Devan lazily scratches his rear. He seems unbothered by the prospect of making an enemy.

And with that she simply says coldly and spitefully.
"Then have fun starving to death"

Octavius sighs, mumbles something about "hardtack", and counts to six on his fingers, before showing a quick expression of slight relief on his face.

"Um. Crikey. You grown ups talk a lot. I mean. Um. You folks sure are talkative, huh? So. I have to go in there with all this money? And buy gold? And peacocks? You won't eat them, right?"

Octavius, startled, jumps and states at Candygal.
What? You bought up food, I'm just recounting the crates of hardtack from the supply manifest we had.

She leans in close crouching.
What's wrong with that guy?

"Sounds good. I'll only eat the pea-cocks if your quarter-master refuses to pass me rations. So there, that's a motivation to keep her in line.

Unless you need anything else captain, first mate, I will be returning to the docks to spend my small cache of money in obtaining useful items.

Buy half gold and half peacocks. Return to ship. Hope someone thinks to buy peacock feed.

Candy looks towards the kid if the group and a small smile stretches across her face a bit of motherly affection in her eyes and in a gentle caring voice.
"Kid want some candy?"

Devan, already preparing to leave, turns back and says a few final words.

"Don't trust the drugged up candy. She's crazy."

He then departs, heading to the docks alone.

He comes off as someone who has his self interests at a very high priority. The fact that he could make such a beautiful weapon, however, makes him an asset to us. I'd imagine this is mutually beneficial to us and him.
Octavius turns to the kid.
Yes, Gold and Peacocks. Not for eating, no, for selling at ports who have higher demand for the cargo.
Octavius turns, finally, to Devan.
If you can, perhaps bring a workbench, tools, and some assorted resources and mechanisms? Who knows what we might find out there.
