This sounds so sweet and adorable. I am thinking of a big woolly troll just sitting in in the dwarves' fort. He's trying to pull apart a door, but can't do it. The dwarves walk by and leave the little guy alone. Some even build walls for him to play with. He tears them apart gleefully like a little kid. He is just a nice innocent troll.

Fun fact: you can psychologically torture semi-intelligents by chaining them up and killing other trolls infront of them, then release said troll and no trolls in future will ever bother your dwarves because its really buggy & funky with relations tracking (all the wilderness pop is a community, past hostile engagements with dwarves in worldgen will affect future relations)

I would normally be horrified by this, but I am making a tower out of dog soap.
Specifically dog soap, I want to figure out how many dogs I must have killed to make it once I am done.

Nope it just gets pushed further down the pile. You mean  0010031: Wild creatures that should normally be hostile due to their [LARGE_PREDATOR] tag are harmless if intelligent. because normally trolls/ogres are search and destroy aggressive murder machines alteast in prior versions.

Don't forget wandering zombies too, though those give up if they lose a fistfight. If you set militia to attack and designate it as a target (therefore afterwards dwarves will jump at the chance to fight it) they will only fistfight the creature and the creature will retreat. The zombie's aversion to life tags obviously started the fight.

my current embark has random undead animals wandering about and they seem to behave normally. a bit too normally actually, there were a bunch of undead badgers who were running around as if they were still alive, but a bit slower of course
