You announce, "Grab your stuff, we're going north to Metropolis. I'm sure somebody there will know what's going on." Everybody puts on backpacks and gets ready for a long hike. The extra heavy stuff was put on a wagon that people could roll along. You lead the group out of the supermarket and into the burning town. You locate the highway and travel off to the side of the street, so that patrolling cars wouldn't pose a threat. You continue for 6 hours, then take a lunch break. However, the old man in your group, who was watching the sky earnestly the whole time, shouts for your attention. It seems a military drone is heading straight for you, it's heat seeking missiles gleaming in the sun. Also, it seems it's cameras have alerted nearby cars to your position because a large plume of dust is coming from the highway, and a fleet of cars of all shapes and sizes starts charging right towards you.

Open fire on the drone. Tell the rest of the team to fire on the enemies when they're in effective range. By the sound of it, I don't think we can out run the cars on foot.

Yeah, but I want YOU guys to come up with stuff like this. It's more fun that way.

You instruct everybody to open fire on the charging cars, while you focused on the drone. The drone wheels away and stays at a distance, making it difficult to land shots on it. Regardless, it's plating resists the small firearms you are carrying anyways, most bullets just bounce off. The cars are close enough for you to get an accurate count, and there are exactly 1 dozen. Not a single one had been stopped by the gunfire your group was putting out. Also, the drone released the first of it's heat seeking missiles. It arced upwards, and made its way to the center of your group.

Shoot the drones cameras in such a way it is propelled into the lead car, causing a crash that blocks the highway

Love this

Shoot at the missile. If it is still on course for our group, then jump up, catch the missile, and throw it at the cars.

You guys are all off of the highway, in the middle of a grassland, but you know that disabling the car in front of the stampede would remove quite a lot of cars from the equation. You aim carefully, taking into account the bullet drop from distance, the wind speed, the circular movement of the drone, the updrafts from the sun, and the slipstream created by the drone as it flies through the air. Taking all this into account, you fire the largest shot you have, which is a 60 caliper rifle shot, way ahead of the drone, and slightly higher than the target, so the bullet arcs through the air, and smacks into the front camera of the drone. The force of the shot rips the camera straight off of the drone and it tumbles gracefully through the air. The moment the bullet hits, all the cars swerve crazily as they no longer know where they are going, but then on of the drone's 3 other cameras takes over and the cars get back on track. But that was when the falling camera landed straight into the tire of the lead car, causing that wheel to lock up and the car to spin out. The sudden movement gave the following cars no time to get out of the way, and a giant crash in the middle of the stampede ensues. The 6 cars on the wings of the stampede ignore the crash and continue onward, but at least the 6 in the middle are either disabled, or destroyed. Furthermore, the intense heat of the car crash seemed to distract the heat-seeking missile of the drone, and it slammed straight into the epicenter of the crash, turning what used to be cars into scrap metal. The drone lets off another missile, this time, a computer targeted one, and the 6 remaining cars, traveling at highway speeds, will barrel into you and your group in another 10 seconds at most.

Wait for the missile to reach us, jump on top of it, ride it towards the cars and aim it at them, and just as the missile is about to land jump away.

You grab a long rope and lasso the incoming missile. With all the force you can muster, you swing it in circles while making the rope shorter and shorter. Once the missile is within reach, you grab on and your extra weight tuns it upwards, away from the people, and towards the cars. You jump off at the last second and roll away as the blast tosses cars in every direction but the direction of your group. The drone, seeing that it had lost its cavalry, flies off and towards the direction of the city. The day is won. Unfortunately, everybody else was too busy to notice what you did.

You pick up a bent piece of metal, and point it in the direction of the retreating military drone, while shouting "ONWARDS!" If that drone is gonna come back, nothing you can do can hide from it. So it would be best just to try to get to the city as fast as possible, and lose it in the maze of buildings. The tall buildings come into view first, followed the residential buildings. About half of them were burned down, but many still stood, including the headquarters of EA, Electronic Automatons. Other notable sites are the military airbase, which is most likely where the drone came from, the Hamlolton, the largest hotel in the country, and the Museum of Computing and technology. Where do you think you should go?

Go to the museum of computing and technology. Look for records of someone building a self-aware AI. Try to dodge the city's cameras as you get there.

You lead your ramshackle group into the heart of the city, going through side alleys whenever possible to avoid camera detection. You expect a robot attack at any moment, but you actually make it to the museum of Computing and Technology without incidence. You go into the museum, and all the alarms start blaring. You run into the basement where the building's power supply is located and you shut down the entire building's power. You instruct everybody to spread out and look for information of any company trying to make an advanced AI. You search the large museum for hours until you hear the collage kid yells that he found it. You rus to him and he says, "This was in the rednecks section, and he missed it completely." "whel, it's nahwt my fault. y'all guys done expected me ta read all thay ...uhh fancy b'jancy wawds." You interject "It doesn't matter. Let's see what we got.

You read the billboard and see that the company Electronic Automatons had a project of a self-improving AI. The billboard says that the results of the experiment were still inconclusive, but you know otherwise. To find out more, perhaps you should visit EA's headquarters a few blocks down. But before you could move, the janitor noticed a Boeing 737 headed on a collision course of the museum. You were all on the 5th floor.

You order everybody down the nearest stairs and into the maintenance room you used to shut off the power. Everybody orders without question. They hurry into the room, and shut the door, but you stay on the top floor, watching the plane calculatingly.

...

Okay, everybody else is safe, but what do you do now? The plane is too close for you to get to the basement.
