It seems like the majority of collisions happen by accident rather than skilled planning. I'd also like an expanded field of view as my snake gets bigger.

It seems not nearly as interesting as Agario. I got to rank 2 on my first life not by fighting anyone, but just letting random stupid people kill themselves on me and then eating them, before getting bored of the lag and many stupid people in the center and making my way out to the sides before dying of boredom. bBut I guess it was worth a play.

Yeah. It's a bit derivative, and unafraid to play with the implications of Snake in ways that stray from Agar.io it seems.

Size progression was a form of safety, and painted you as a target in Agar.io. In this, the biggest snake on the server can die to a tiny snake who just spawned in front of them. There's a sense of progression from just getting bigger, sure... but without any real advantage.

Better model, to me, would have been to just stick with same-width snakes that just get longer. Or have a choice to sacrifice say 1000 length at a given size to grow in Size Class; snakes can collide with the same or larger size classes, and can consume snakes of a smaller class.

Simple fixes to deal with stuff.

I say it's a very good iteration on agar.io, and potential better. There's more tactics to it.

Yeah? I'm curious about other interpretations, from a design perspective.

I love this game. I've made it to first place several times now.

Other highlights I managed to capture:

Here are my strategies:
- Always be collecting pellets.
- If you see snakes that are around 3-5x bigger than you, avoid them. If they are smart, they will encircle you, and then you're dead meat.
- If you see snakes that are much bigger than you (10x bigger or more), follow their tail! This is how I break 1000 in most attempts, by following a big snake until he makes a mistake then feeding on his corpse.
- Be aggressive when you're small! Snakes drop lots of very large pellets. This is always worth it until you hit 10,000, at which point you should start being more cautious around the very tiny snakes. A few rapid, consecutive deaths is worth it if you kill a very large snake on your latest attempt.
- Be patient and discerning when you're huge. The bigger you are, the wider your turning radius will become. Very small snakes can easily kill you if they're brave enough, so use your long body to protect your head.
- Remember that you can cross your own body. Turning back on yourself .
- Avoid other aggressive snakes. If you see a snake boosting around, just turn around and go somewhere else. You want to prey on the cowardly snakes. If he chases you, keep turning back on yourself until he gets bored, unless he is much larger than you, in which case you need to think about where his tail is in order to avoid being encircled.

If encircled:
- If it's a very big snake he will need to cross the area you are trapped in in order to kill you quickly, which he will want to do if he's smart, otherwise he risks being encircled. Bait the encircling snake into doing this by waiting near the edge of the circle, then boost in front of him to take him out.
- If the snake is cautious or patient and is not aggressively making your space smaller, don't give up, just keep turning on yourself and try to stay alive. The encircling snake might make a mistake.

I'm unable to play due to excessive lag sadly.

Death is so binary in this that lag just kills it (and by "it" I mean "me").  In Agar.io things were slower and even if you got caught out you could still salvage some mass and escape, so lag was less painful.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Yeah. Slither is balanced toward instability at the top; it has fast-paced growth if you're lucky or gutsy, and gets increasingly risky when you're closer to the top. The inverse is true of Agar, which is riskiest at the start, with a harder climb toward stability at the top; there's a few tactics for smaller units to bust up bigger ones, but it's mostly about pursuit or ambush. It's a matter of taste, I think.

I discovered Chrome and was pleased. I may have made the top ten, but I primarily play as a vulture, waiting for other creatures to die and following the paths of destruction they create.

However, whenever I see any snake pythoning another, I tend to get in real nice and close to make the larger one sweat. On the occasions where the small guy inside gets away, I smile. Though, I did release one and they immediately ran into my tail. Which was sad, but I enjoyed his remains.

Made it to the top as "A Friendly Vulture", as per Geiger in the Own thread. Feeding off the aggression of other mistakes is a lucrative trade. Eventually got out maneuvered by lag and a rather large snake who probably became the new biggest. But that's alright.

Controls are too jumpy and laggy.  Also it's stupid that you can just sit on your own body as a snake, making it impossible for somebody you're encircling to outplay you, until the lag hits and you automatically die.

Big snakes are at a big disadvantage and oftentimes encircling someone can lead to your own death.
