Description: A girl of around 5'3", Lynn is fond of thigh-length tunics (particularly in lavender) and light brown riding boots. Her brown is perpetually tied in a small bun just below the center of her head. She has green eyes and naturally rosy cheeks.
Backstory: Lynn was raised in a closeted magical family, having no less than everything about her heritage told by the age of five. Her parents were up front and adamant of the fact that nobody else could know about this fact, which Lynn reluctantly complied with. She learned the basics of channeling her innate magical ability fairly early on and could reliably set things on fire, for better or worse, at twelve. Then she was moved onto advanced training and, just after turning seventeen, Lynn was gifted with the extremely cherished White Family Grimoire to use as she saw fit. She frequently visited the Gremillion farm to learn exactly how to use the Grimoire, often staying for weeks at a time.
White Grimoire Form: After activating the Grimoire, Lynn's attire instantly changes to some more suited for magical use. Her usual tunic becomes a full-out robe reaching her calves, though it never seems to get in the way of any movement. Her riding boots are now full-on boots "like Medieval people wore" and reach past the hem of her robe. For reasons unknown the Grimoire has elected to provide a ridiculously giant floppy wizard's hat over three feet in diameter. It is a very fitting shade of purple.
Ability:
White Family Grimoire: The Grimoire is an ancient heirloom of Lynn's family, dating well over thousands of generations before her time. A purely white book with
a crest of a book and quill emblazoned in pure gold upon the cover, the Grimoire is a very strange object indeed. Two hundred and fifty pages are bound within, each containing written words pertaining to a magical spell. The Grimoire is mysteriosuly enchanted so it appears as an ordinary book - the last Lynn had read prior, sometimes changing in the span of minutes - with the White Family crest present somewhere on its cover. It even allows one to read it as normal until it is opened with intent to use, at which point it reverts to its ordinary form and alters Lynn's clothing appropriately.
Since none are in any sort of language she can
read, but Lynn can
understand and subsequently cast every one, she's opted to mark each with a small symbol or set of symbols that denote the spell's function (such as a small flame for Fireball), "level", and how many pages it takes up. Though the ordering of spells is mysteriously randomized each time she opens up the Grimoire, Lynn's symbols remain, allowing her to easily flip through and find the one she wants as long as she hurries. Most spells take a simple gesture to cast.
There are three "Levels" of spells in the Grimoire, as Lynn has noticed. Level One spells, of which there are one hundred, are the most simple to cast [1 Exhaustion] but also the least powerful of them, and are extremely varied in their usefulness (take, for example, Fireball vs. Create Flower Petals).
The Second Level of spells, of which there are fifty, take up two pages each. They are generally more powerful in comparison to Level One spells and are more focused on combat utility than general utility, such as Big Fireball, Ground Spike, Increase Speed, et cetera, but take more out of Lynn [2 Exhaustion].
Level Three spells are very few and far between. Ten exist in the Grimoire and take up five pages each, but they are extremely powerful - and taxing [5 Exhaustion] - spells. Truthfully, Lynn only knows what nine of them do; the tenth, which is always the very last spell in the book, is simply marked with a small '3' and a very large question mark. Every time of the many she's attempted to invoke it, she simply falls unconscious and nothing whatsoever happens.
General Magic: Lynn is also skilled in regular magic, but a strange side effect of the Grimoire is that is appears to dampen the user's innate spell ability except when used in tandem with the book.
