So, in light of its rapid decline, are we going to rename the British pound to the British ounce?  :P

Part of me half wonders if the disputed cow route could be a thing. 52% of population takes 52% of the country and leaves, 48% of the country takes the rest and stays in EU. The schadenfreude would literally split nations :V

Great idea! Also, people who don't agree to taxes should not pay them, who do agree with cannibalism should be allowed to do it etc.

Agree, the immigration rhetoric did make a vote pass (although seemingly irrelevant, as UK is not in EU immigrations policy, it is a problem because of free inside EU movement) . No, not media - almost all were pro-remain. But is it a bad thing? Yes, I know, You can only be democratic by agreeing with us. Things like being independent were only small factors. It's not like independent thoughts are being punished in slaves.
No, UK will not make anyone who work there leave. They will push out all the foreign benefit grabbers.
The foreseen market crash - right now it's due speculations. EU and EUR is also losing a lot (but not as much as GBP), but unlike GBP EU can't fix that unless they do major rework on EU policies. It's not due to UK-EU trade, there could be only minor changes in that (tariffs etc.). EU simply cannot allow that and will fight it with all possible resources. UK succeeding out of EU is the end of EU with 2 new exits each month.

UK will have it very hard because there will be full-blown economical war. It's amazing how little people compare it to a scenario of eastern european countries leaving Warsaw Pact. Yes, in this case EU=WP and they will use exactly same methods. And eastern europeans had it easier because there was 'someone' pulling them out of WP, while UK leaves on its own.
Why is Russia happy? Because EU can't hold economical war on so many fronts when minor EU countries' economies are already crumbling and rise in anty-UE politics movements everywhere.

5/7, would vote exit if allowed to.
Actually, the funniest thing i heard about brexit is this joke:
1) UK leaves
2) Merkel cries
3) Others leave
4) GER do not leave, because it would be stupid
5) They try to PR, so change the EU name
6) 'Reich' sounds much better

What an informative video.  See here I was thinking that the real advances in modeling labor market local equilibrium came from synthetic controls.  People have spent decades developing the tools to learn how to make these difference in trend models and control for the differences.  But what a waste that has been.  All we needed was gumballs.  Just round all the benefits down to zero and then voila, you have zero benefits.

Fun fact: your life is less then a gumball in that metaphor.  The net displaced workers in the US are less then a gumball.

the video was about these countries and the people who would be left there, but sure make the problem be the migrants themselves if you will.

I don't know, ask LW. I think I remember him mentioning London secession at least once. I thought it was a joke at the time, so I didn't pay too much attention, but apparently it isn't.
Nah, London secession is not serious. What is serious though is London autonomy, which is pretty inevitable since rich Londoners want to safeguard themselves from Prime Ministers rising to power on the platform of take from London, give to Britain

Italeave is bestsounding one

Is... there a context that would make "White people" seem less like a racial slur?
The one where we deport white people

wait... Does Britain have ghosts that are full citizens? (wait... that would be even worse in that context... The undead have rights too)
Only gweilo

I am just going to assume by "White" they mean Caucasian. Unless "White" in Britain means English.
Urbanites use white to mean all white people, from farthest region of Siberian hellhole to sunniest Californian sands

And how the hell every "serious" poll and betting site predicted Remain will win? even the markets behaved as if Remain already won (Although they go by the Media). is it just a case of a serious Echo chamber mentality? we know today's journalists are basically a young and inexperienced humanoid copy/paste search engine, but have they actually unintentionally/intentionally tempered with the results, seeing/showing only what fits their agenda?
Our pollsters have been having hard times recently, in the 2015 general election all the polls said it would be neck and neck and turned out to be a landslide victory. Here is much the same thing again

Turns out polls aren't predictions of the future

It could be a case of journalists echoing but I should hope not, the one thing this has proven is that overconfidence kills. Gotta win before you call it a win

It's funny because David Cameron is directly and personally to blame for this with his rash promise. It would be one thing if the new global recession were caused by some ardent ideologue who hated the EU, but instead it was caused because a very short-sighted politician wanted to win a domestic election
One for the history books - he didn't even have a plan for what happened if he lost, that's the lethal levels of toxic smug he produced

We can only hope mate, we can only hope. We've done our bit, anyway, now it's up to the Yanks.
Centipedes raining from the sky,
Millipedes proving death may die,
Global catastrophe is what you see,
In one day, all is vulgarity

You keep to your side of the Atlantic you tea-drinking redcoat, and we'll keep to ours.
Murricans have been welcome in Brexit thread, to see Murricans close their doors in isolation to glorious cultural enrichment from British refugees would be racist af

This is a statement which i can't fully understand. Cameron is to blame because he chose to establish a democratic process? the UK voted out because the UK wanted out. denying the UK's public the right to determine their own fate is not a democratic action.
Chose democracy and lost, when literally he had support of everything
I like that the Chinese have a name for someone who manages to fail despite extraordinary support

Nope, I've seen a tweet from someone important person in EU saying that "Leave means leave" and if Britain leaves EU, then it will leave out of all EU agreements.
I think EU is going to try to make an example out of Britain by making it as hard as possible, mistakenly assuming that this will deter others from leaving EU, but which will instead only hasten the inevitable destruction of EU as more people will come to see EU as a tyrannical anti-democratic institution.
But all those people are RACIST

Grats for the Brexit camp I guess.
And the poor Brits will find out soon enough it changes shit, with the rich getting richer while the poor get poorer.
Well at least you can't scapegoat the EU now anymore.
People who are so wealthy they can afford currency speculations losing millions sounds hilarious to those who have nothing to lose - therein lies the problem with that
I do like that you defend innocent EU from brutal scapegoating, all the EU ever did was destroy southern europe and leave refugees in the desert, innocent EU literally did nothing wrong, that's why it's so unpopular

cost of brexit: gorillion quadrillion poundshekels
the look on his face: priceless
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Tfw you can't wake up and realize it's not a nightmare

EDIT: Found out Anthony Burch (did he ever get his Wii U back?) disapproves of our glorious revolution. Damn, maybe we were wrong after all? Looks like the Remainers are in good company, anyway.
Remember, no matter how shit your life may be, you will never be Anthony Burch

I suspect it would have turned out as remain if more younger voters actually got out and voted. As I said before, I feel like I'm going to be telling people that didn't vote they have no right to complain.
Fucking rain

One of the main policy priorities of the US democratic party right now is making sure that federal government subsidized healthcare is available to poor people in states where republicans control the state government.  The poor people who vote democrat already have federally subsidized healthcare, it's just the republican voters they want to make sure get it.

Right wingers everywhere sure do love to generalize about the way that the left views the poor.
