Hey all, just checking to see if there's an interest in me doing a playthrough of From the Depths (http://fromthedepthsgame.com/)

What I'm thinking of doing is have forum members sign on as Fleet commanders, and choosing their fleet composition based of a list of ships I provide. Players would start of as a Battlegroup commander. Based on performance, they would get promoted up to Commodore and Admiral, which would allow them to have larger fleets.

As the campaign progresses I'd introduce more advanced ships and new variants of older models.

What do you all think?

EDIT: To clarify, people who want to be commanders wouldn't be playing. What would be happening is that I would allow a certain number of points (based on their rank). They would then use these to buy ships to full out their battlegroup, and would get to name all their ships.
Additionally, They would choose which ship they want to claim personally, this has no in game effect, but for lp purposes, if their personal ship gets destroyed, your out, and I bring in someone new as a commander.

Ships would cost points based on size, with large capital ships being expensive, and smaller ships like frigates and escorts being really cheap.

Not right away. I want to start off using some of my designs. They're built to be combat capable, but not superpowered.

Later on however, admirals could ask for special "one of a kind" ships. And for that I WILL accept submissions.

EDIT: However, if people want to take on the duty of "Official LP Ship Designers", I wouldn't be against it

I'd be up to build a battlegroup as well.

Not really a say in battles, but you will get to vote and who and what we attack, as well bicker amongst yourselves as to what kind of new ships get developed.

You can't really make that judgement until after you fight other player designs.

Could you post a couple? I'll test em out.

I was too. I've been making new lines of ships just for the lp.
