Another Bloody Weapon Design Game! (It Begins!)

 Another Bloody Weapon Design Game!

Welcome to the Hope system, and to the settlement of Rapid Springs. Settled roughly one hundred years ago in one of the efforts to keep humanity from dying quite as easily, the initial five ships, and the colonist they carried, have given rise to a system-wide population of almost five million souls covering Hope Prime, part of her moon, a station between the two and a number of asteroid clusters. Most of Humanities descendants live on two of the world's three continents and, perhaps predictably, come into conflict with each other, and the ecosystem of the world they live on, in rather alarming fashions.

Considering the quantity of armaments sent with the initial colonists was just about enough for policing the initial population of roughly half a million, this has caused a bit of a bottleneck.

And this is where you come in. All across the system small groups have joined to produce new weapons of war, piece, harmony, destruction, and so on.

The only questions are what form these thing will take... And how far will you go to take them?

So, as you may tell, this is my attempt to start a game with slightly less bookkeeping, and slightly more story. This is a suggestion game, with the players acting as the voices in the head of the protagonist, one of those who, for whatever reason, decided to make their living producing weaponry for all and sundry who are willing to- and have the means to pay for them.

This is scifi, but one that is somewhat hard in scope. I hope you all enjoy.
I sure as hell hope I do. And that this wont die to paperwork...

Spoiler: Other Technologies (click to show/hide)

So, what we need from you guys right now is simple. Name, Gender, Background, and Current Governmental Unit. The rest of the choices are based on these, or rather on the last one.

Any questions, please ask them. And hopefully this will go well...

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

The Major would be a bit old, like, roughly 160 years old.

Wouldn't mind seeing the tech level increased a little bit though (AKA fusion engines and viable energy weapons)

That being said, throw my vote in for the major.

There may be fusion tech, and there are viable energy weapons, just not for ground infantry in atmo.

So, Major Tom's descendant could work? Any opposition?

You are John Tom, Great-Grandson of Major Tom. Long ago he was one of the first to step foot on this world, and that longing to go elsewhere apparently ran in the family.

Your grand-parents where some of the first people to settle away from Crashtown, and your parents where some of the first to settle land away from the first continent, and from them you learned alot. Course, you also had a fair number of educhips for yer fone, so you may well have learned more from them. Particularly that one chip... Got you alot of money when you sold it too...

Anyways, one of the things you learned being that everyone wants a gun. And you think you can provide that want. The question is, where to set up shop...

Penultimate Hope is a trading port, the hub of most ocean shipping on this rather large island down here by the second continent. They do have a few established gunsmiths, and its somewhat expensive to get some things here. However, you can get most anything here, either shipped by sea, air, or down the river.

Iron Town is a possibility. As its name implies, it is situated to mine and refine iron ore to stimulate industry, the finished goods sent along the river to be shipped elsewhere. Lots of labor available though, mostly people who used to work on the machinery that worked in the mines. It also has a sister town, Steelpot, which turns much of the iron into steel, unimaginatively.

Theres also Rapid Springs, named for the rapids that formed after the river was dammed for hydroelectric power. Its just downriver from Iron Town, and is an important center of trade in its own right. Powers cheap too. Getting some materials may prove to be an issue though.

Although it may not be the best idea, Asscreek(pronounced Asscrack) is always an option. Its right on the edge of civilization, meaning that a good many people move on through, including small freelance miners and the like. Power is scarce though, and most materials would take a while to ship, unless you pay for an airship to haul them out.

There are some other settlements along the river and heading into the mountains round about, but most arent worthy of the title hamlet. Still, you can probably think of a few that I missed.

Not sure if this game is alive, but in case it is I suggest going to Rapid Springs.
