I would make the attempt to join, but I have only just bought the game, and unless people want to deal with the chaos I would cause through learning how to play the game beyond the most basic mechanics...

Honestly this is probably a great time to jump in and learn the mechanics, since everyone will be around to offer advice on how to play the game and stuff like that. With everyone around, any chaos you perform will just blend into the general background.

You also don't exactly need to know what your doing to succeed; I prevail through accidental strategical genius, like marrying my Cathar brother off to the Byzantine Empress and the Pope calling a crusade on his son 20 years later. And if that isn't encouraging enough, Cyprus and the other islands are pretty good spots to learn stuff since people can't easily attack you.

This applies to me too, but as noted, I'm using this as a learning opportunity.
Still a bit sad Loud Whispers declined to tutor me though :(
Not surprising though.

So yeah, don't expect any serious blobbing outta me, unless I get REALLY FUCKING LUCKY.
Also if/when this is over is it possible to use the save in the EU converter? Would be kinda interesting to see how that era treats the resulting mess :P

Considering how slow multiplayer tends to be and how early we're starting,we might not get to a point where its usable.

Ran a game starting in a similar situation to what I'd be within the multiplayer.  Seemed to do a bit better.  May actually join.  One question, though. How does time work in the multiplayer?

I believe the time acceleration is set by whatever the majority of players set it to. From what I remember we are supposedly going to use 1, 2, or 3.

Thanks dude, I added the list to the OP. Difficult to gather things properly on a phone...

Anyway, I've added a request for PMs for general times that you might be available, so if you want me to add that, you can post in the thread or (probably a better idea) PM me.

Hey hector? Off topic, but this has been bugging the HELL out of me for awhile...

Could you explain the Old Man Henderson joke in your sig? I know who he is and have read the story repeatedly, but I just get this ANNOYING FEELING that I'm missing something that makes the joke work.

From looking deeper in the thread, I think it's a joke referencing this set of jokes.

If you click the linked quote and read back a few pages, it'll explain it a lot better than I could. Basically someone posted a joke of the "three stereotypes are about to die, there are only two means of escaping the fate" kinda joke, someone then pointed out an apparent misuse of the Henderson scale, we all got into an argument about it and then Egan posted the joke, and I found it very funny.

PPE: ninjas

joke in question. A few posts later someone mentions giving the scroll to the dragon, and then Kot mentions the Henderson scale, then we argue, then Egan posts the joke.

Basically
Old Man Henderson is the punchline!

Minor question: what would people actually consider as a good playtime length for the multiplayer game?
