Xp added, along with the stuff we picked up (but not the scrolls.)

Good session.
I look forward to next week.

One New Zealander by the nickname of Nightscar has expressed interest in joining, is that fine with you two too? Prospectively going to be a warforged binder. :v

Not sure if it'll be this session or next.

What's LFP?

As for nightly, he's a bay12 user that also happens to frequent the IRC chat (#bay12lb @ darkmyst).

Looking For Players. You can set an LFP ad on a game in Roll20, I believe. Never really done it myself so I wouldn't know how exactly it works. You can find interesting folk that way, though.

Anyway, cool. Don't really know that person, but I assume he's all right. Most people are!

Finalized to be a Warforged Warblade, character name TBA.

Here are Nightly's characters starting scrolls. Since they have put zero points into UMD or Spellcraft, Bernard or BWOF may prefer to take them. Also, I shared a note with the scrolls on it with everyone in roll20.

A feather-light scroll that has the spell Capricious Zephyr inscribed on it.
  - A ball of air pushes targets around and trips them: bullrush (+6) to trip
  - Lasts for 5 rounds, can be directed
A rock tablet with the spell Spike Stones on it.
  - Seven squares turn into spiked stones that must be moved through at half speed. Also deal 1d8 spikey damage.
The spell Languor on a scroll.
  - Give a 1d6+7 STR penalty with a ray attack for 7 rounds. Additionally, will save DC 18 or be Slowed.

The spell Boneblade on a sinister-looking scroll with endcaps made of bone.
  - Turn a long bone into a +2 longsword made of BONE. Deals +1d6 to living targets and +1d6 to Good ones. Blade lasts for 20 minutes.

Additionally, I wanted to give out a couple more scrolls as loot during the session but it takes quite a bit of time to do so, so here's three more scrolls each for Bernard and BFOW.

Bernard:

A large sand-colored scroll of Summon Desert Ally 9: Summon a 9th level desert creature for 17 rounds (two minutes).
A scroll of Eagle's Spendor: +4 to Charisma for 3 minutes. (SL2)
A scroll etched into raw hide. Bite of the Wereboar: Partially shapeshift into a wereboar, gaining +4 Str, +6 Con, +8 Natural Armor for 7 rounds. (SL4)

BFOW:

A small, brilliant bright scroll of Moonbolt: 2d4 Strength damage to a target; if it is an undead, it is made helpless. (SL4)
A scroll with very dense lettering, of Replicate Casting: Can copy any spell or spell-like ability you see, as if your caster level were 17. (SL9)
A scroll of Lesser Planar Ally

That's the sort of spell that is only used in the form of scrolls or wands.

only problem is, there is no overland travel in this particular game.

Also, I added some more scrolls to Bernard and BFOW.

End of session! 1000 XP to all involved.

Bernard finds the following scrolls in a chest.

  • Insanity
    • As Confusion, but cannot be dispelled easily. Will DC 20 negates. SL 7
  • Symphonic Nightmare
    • Haunting music disrupts target's sleep for 13 days. Will DC 20 negates. SL 7
  • Symbol of Sleep
    • Triggered rune puts nearby creatures into catatonic slumber.
  • Sleep Mote
    • A small sphere of swirling dust puts creatures to sleep. Wis/Int/Cha -2, and if fail save fall asleep. Will DC 18. SL 5
  • Inspired Aim
    • Allies within 40ft radius gain +2 insight bonus on ranged attack rolls.
  • Insanity
    • See above.

BFOW

  • Mindrape
    • You learn everything subject knows, and can alter its knowledge/personality/opinion/memories... etc. Will DC 24 negates. SL 9
  • Bewildering Mischance
    • Target takes the lower of two rolls for each save/attack roll/skill check, lasts 9 rounds. Will DC 18 negates. SL 5
  • Song of Dischord
    • Force targets to attack each other. Will DC 18 negates. SL 5
  • Mass Hold Monster
    • Holds monsters in 30ft. Will DC 24 negates. SL 9
  • Wages of Sin
    • Evil creatures attack other evil creatures. Will DC 19 negates.
  • Mass Charm Monster
    • Charms monsters within 30ft. Will DC 19 negates. SL 6

(...Considering the fact that so far you have met only one non-mindless enemy, the Elemental, I am not sure this chest was that helpful)

TL;DR of session: The party spends a ton of magic scrolls, even summoning a Hound Archon and a Chaotic Good outsider to bring down a gigantic Outsider. However, the poor Outsider is killed during the combat. "Let's not do that again," remarked Bernard

Checking the thread may lead me to have less of a panic when I remember right on the hour, that I supposed to be in a roll20 game :L

I may also not be here for May 7th--I'm going to a hackathon in Shenzhen for the weekend. I might have time from 5 to 8 though, since I imagine I can just retire to my hotel room.
