I might do that, I'm not completely certain yet. I think the main issue was that it was one day things, usually with less than two hours of work on each, so they were never completely satisfying, both from the idea and the execution sides. I think I'll try and do one or two bigger pieces each week now, posting works in progress here or something.
To start off, here's something that was supposed to be a quick and painterly sketch but about an hour in I realised that this is going to take much much longer to do properly, so I'm stuck here doodling his eyebrows instead of sleeping xD

I'm aware of that bit yeah, the body is just roughed in really. Anyways, slight update, finished the head and started on the rest of the upper body. Debating on cutting him off at the stomach or not, will see how I feel after some more hours.

Time for a quibble that will bother a tiny percentage of the population! That breastplate wouldn't allow him to bend or move his shoulders properly. It's also a bit oddly shaped - even for an early period breastplate, they wouldn't be quite that globose. Unless he's seriously barrel-chested, of course.

I honestly like the expression on the WIP face more... it looks more resolute and foreboding, I guess. But the hair in the second one is waaay better than in the first post.

I've really enjoyed lurking in this thread while it lasted, but I understand getting burnt out. I like the idea of longer pieces with WIP updates, although it does sound exhausting.

The elf dude went trough a number of, changes, let's go with changes (and not horrible mistakes that took hours to do and probably even more to fix). Think I'll have to redo him properly eventually, maybe when I actually have a semblance of a clue of what the fuck I'm doing.
Until then, have a bodiless elf officer:

Just a question/commentary: Are the proportions supposed to be like that? It reads like his shoulders are about 50% too broad for that head size. Is it supposed to be that way?

Asking more to check my eyes than to poke holes in your work, I haven't had energy for art stuff lately.
