"try chamomile tea, sir. It's good for relaxing, though I am not trying to relax."
he would say to Alan. He would then look at Alanis.
"Not really, no. Who are you?"

He orders an earl grey tea, paying the specified amount with a curt and ultimately token smile, before sitting down at a window-side table, joined by the figure following him.
"Bad choice there, you ought to sit on the other side of the door. Make it harder to shoot while walking in."
He gestures, raising as palm, though as was often the case, she ignores it and continues talking anyway.
"Not that window-side is ever too good an idea ever, you're better off near the counter, you'll have a good view of them prep'ing your dink there, make sure they don't spike it. And if something does happen, you can vault behind it for cover."

[SOLDIER First]

"You can't win a staring contest with me, you know."

[TheBiggerFish]

Alan is drumming his fingers on the table, dazed, and doesn't really respond to the person.

"My name's Alanis.  I think I've met an alternate timeline version of you out...somewhere.  Multiverse stuff."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"You can't win a staring contest with me, you know."

Yet stare she does.

[SOLDIER First]

"Or a glaring contest, since I guess that's what this is."

Ian drums his fingers on the table.

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"....._fine."

[TheBiggerFish]

Alan continues drumming his fingers on the table.  They're leaving little patches of frost behind.

Alanis, meanwhile, has wandered away from the not-ENG person and is pulling out a multitude of technological devices and checking whether they have a signal.

Then, she notices Ian.

"Have we met?"

They all have signal. Huh. The provider's not familiar, however.
So Alan's does. Lieselotte, being in the kitchen, doesn't notice.

The other waitress who tripped pulls herself up and runs into the kitchen, embarrassed.

Alan:It keeps happening.

Alanis doesn't question it.

[SOLDIER First]

He smirks.
"What did I tell you?"

[Empiricist]

Gosse's shadow glances across the room, checking the positioning of the hands of the other patrons along with whether or not they are carrying any visible weapons or bags sufficiently large to carry any. Gosse himself on the other hand just idly inspects the menu, averting his gaze from the phantasm.

Gosse doesn't really spot anything obvious on the staff or the regulars.

"... if my guy is right? Probably in a different timeline. I however haven't met you unless you're into well dressed men in clubs taking you home."
