Kyle nods at takes the chit. Then he snaps a small piece. He then hands back the 499 credit chit.
"Alright, now to seal deal you need to kiss me."
Faf would remember that the earlier sign mentioned that he would say this as a joke and that it wasn't actually necessary. That part was also written in sharpie as if someone was annoyed when they wrote it.

She blinks once. "I believe this was previously stated to be unnecessary. If I may, please get on with what I came here for in the first place."

Kyle shrugs in a 'you got me' kind of way.
"Yeah, you're right. Anyways, got any specifics about them in mind? Like, different race, different gender, different parenteral relationship....?"

((Or, from our perspective, tell me if you have something specific that FAF will find or if I have free reign for what's different.))

[SOLDIER First]

"Look, I-I'm sorry, okay? I won't say that shit any more, just don't kill me."
Beat.
"...Or hurt me."

She crosses her arms and closes her eyes, seemingly pondering. "In this universe I am Model 002. Always second. Not given any chance to prove myself. I was repurposed for a more mundane use due to unwarranted neglect. I've never had more than a rudimentary AI before my remodeling, and with the one I have now I've always wondered what would have happened if I had been created... earlier."
"Show me Combat Model 001 "FAFNiR"."

"Look, I-I'm sorry, okay? I won't say that shit any more, just don't kill me."
Beat.
"...Or hurt me."

Maeve stares at him.

Then begins laughing.

Only instead of being the kind of laugh you'd expect from someone trying not to kill you- an infectious, heartening laugh- it's the kind of laugh you hear from a serial killer as he hacks his victims to shreds, taking in their final cries of agony and relishing the thrill of the hunt.

Kyle nods and raises his hands as if to push an invisible old lady in front of a bus. As he concentrates a portal begins opening to reveal a similar but less detailed model of her. This Fafnir is to the second banana what late PS2 graphics are to early PS3 graphics, which is to say, similar but more fake looking. For instance the hair is obviously fake like a dollar store wig, and the mouth is merely a hole containing the speaker. Currently she's in the middle of combat, easily cutting down the unfortunate enemies like a bear would take down school kids. It would seem from the way her integrated sword is designed is that in this universe blood or something made from it is used for power instead of cacti. This explains why she's the favored model as well. Soon, the carnage is over and the FAFNIR model stands alone looking almost sad. Finally she brings an arm up to her speaker and gives a report on what happened before turning on her heel and heading back the way her steps went. Kyle whistles in appreciation of the display.
"Hm, looks could do with an upgrade, but she... er, you... uh... she, yeah, fights better than some of our bots... can't say I prefer her though."

[SOLDIER First]

Lionan pulls out his wallet and begins thumbing through the bills.
"D-do you want money? I have, um, I think thirty bucks in here, i-if you don't kill me.."

The laugh gets harsher.

[SOLDIER First]

Maeve now has $31.58 in various bills and coins on the table in front of her, and Lionan is actually cowering in fear.

".....keep your money. It won't save you."

[SOLDIER First]

Beat.
Lionan very slowly and gently gathers the money (while flinching at literally any movement she makes) and resumes a sort of.. half-cower.

Model 002 looks on as her alternate self mowed down the enemies, still crossing her arms. Her eyes flashed with recognition at the blood-like substance used for energy. After the display has ended, she stays silent for a while longer. Finally, she puts down her arms and looks at Kyle. "Thank you, Mister Kyle. The display was quite enlightening. Perhaps my gym membership may have more uses than originally thought. Have a good day, Mister Kyle." With that, she walks out of the gym, back into the cafe.

Maeve drags Lionan home by the collar and plays shirtless extreme chess with him stops laughing, simply smiling reassuringly at him.

Or it would be reassuring if it wasn't, y'know, Maeve. Instead, it just seems even more terrifying.
"Oh, I won't lay a finger on you. There. You can stop wetting yourself now."
