A hamster on a wheel, powering the control and safety systems on the floor below. (By common feline consent, left unmolested by the nearest catkind who are all far much more interested in the catnip whose continued existence is a shared issue.)

There's also a budgie here, with a small bell it rings that in some way is very useful to some dog-infested floors to be found above this one.
