Since the doom-mongers seem to be in full force a couple of threads away, do you have a concrete plan in place for optimizing when DF eventually becomes too slow to play even a small fortress due to technology limitations (like single-thread processing speeds, etc)? Even just a yes or no is cool if you don't want to get into details.

When it comes to immersing yourself in a game, do you feel that there's a peak to how deep games can take us, or is the no bound to how in-depth games can become?

Are there physical or mental barriers you face when deciding to take the development in a new direction?

How much do previous plans impact new ones as they arise?
