Depending how fast PTTG?? finishes his run, I may need someone to cut in front of me in line.  I am unavailable for the next... 16 hours after this post.

Vertical bars work just as well, and you can make them even without an anvil. All you need to make bars is... well, bars. The kind you get from the smelter.

We wanted to, but I forgot to do it before generating a world, so it resulted in a fiasco.

I think this would be awesome as a competition game.  Everyone do it, play for x game years, be done by xmas, and whoever makes the most toys wins!

Do you have to regen a world if you add the toy mod ??? I never tried it but i know you can add and remove some tags and it still runs , but maybe no the toys are objects eh?

Looks promising. I had an idea for a fortress similar to this one (with dwarfs producing toys and musical instruments), except that in my case, the whole toy and crafts industry would only serve as a cover front. It was inspired by a (non-fantasy) short story I recently read where an ordinary-looking city served as a cover for an underground factory producing nuclear weapons. Similarly, my fortress would have drunken dwarfs hanging about or seemingly producing trade good and other such stuff, while in reality, the workshops would only serve as entrance points to the real underground fortress, where all the dwarfs would be busy churning out weapons of bloody war 24/7. My goal would be to cover the weapons industry up so that outsiders (like elves) would not even be aware that it exists.

Finaly! I am proud to say that, with an anvil delivered by the humans, I have been able to prepare a large, active lava forge area! I also built a simple freshwater source and a simple office for santa. In addition, our population has expanded to 42 dwarves, making production a lot easier! Here's the link:

Good luck, TeDDD, and a jolly Baby Armok Day!

So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Another year over, and a new one just begun...

...under my tyrannical fist.

I'll get working ASAP.

Er... is there a reason that I appear to be reclaiming this fortress rather than simply continuing a save?  You'll have to forgive me, this is my first succession game.

Edit: I'm getting the impression I need to move an extra file somewhere, or something.  I extracted the christmas zip to the save folder, but instead of adding a "Continue Playing" option it added a "Start Playing" option.

Is it the wrong file, PTTG?

I'm not really sure how to proceed.  Should I A) wait for PTTG?? to either confirm this as THE save, or to upload the proper one; or B) forge ahead with the abandoned fort?

I'm hoping the second part of A is the way to go.

Santa doesn't really exist you silly Dwarves, it's just something Armok tells you to keep you in line for the holidays.  Of course it's empty.
