The quiet old man becomes even quieter after mumbling this sentence, but an expression of utter rage forms on his face as he charges the enemy.

Bright flashes of light pieced the darkness in the cave as Jezzail and Brecht cast their spells. Unfortunately the monster to the east was surprisingly nimble, dodging both Brecht's magic, and Helen's crossbow bolt.

The other's luck faired better, as Sprook finished off the beast to the party's right, while Shion finally managed to land a mighty blow on the other. Her spell impacted the abomination dead on, blowing the grosteque to pieces and leaving its remains a smoking wreck.

The grotesques scurried on their small limbs, while the gargoyles themselves spread their wings and glided down into the pit at the center of the cave, bringing their stolen spears to bear against the mercenaries.
