Ere the Dingos get hungry.... on a glacier
« on: February 19, 2016, 09:56:04 pm »

I could have sworn that at some point, the animal listed in the embark screen was actually drawn from the surrounding biomes.  Since 40.xx however, I have only ever seen Dingo.  What the heck happened?

I've had a different thing stating Jaguar Men. I have yet to see a single one of them, but I've encountered some supprisingly hostile above ground Badger Men rather frequently.

Otherwise, yes, it's mostly Dingos.

I suppose Dingos are the most common creature with the Large Predator tag associated with them in the local vicinity of your embark, although I'm baffled as to why it isn't wolves, or ice wolves, or even yeties for a glacier.

I'd imagine dingos would get hungry pretty quickly on a glacier. Better hurry.

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

Fair point, but still :P

Glad it's not just me.  At first I thought Dingos just had a very wide habitat range and I was unlucky.  However, having now embarked at several dingo-inhospitable areas, I'm fairly certain its' a bug.

I see dingoes most often, but occasionally cougars, and once or twice giant something or others.  Dingoes are maybe the most prolific "baddies" in relatively peaceful biomes?
