[ISG] Journey of a Future Hero
« on: February 18, 2016, 09:48:31 pm »

It's time to set out on an adventure! You might not be much right now, but you're sure that (with work and time, of course) you'll become the greatest hero the world's ever seen!

...Or escape Loserville, at least.Maybe you won't end up the greatest hero the world's ever seen...

Of course, before you leave, you'll want to arm yourself with the passed-down weapon you keep in the chest. Maybe take your meagre possessions from the cabinets, too.
If you aren't in a hurry, you might even visit the market!

What weapon is kept in the chest?

A mighty wizard staff!
Or possibly just a gnarled stick... It is pretty solid though, so you can belt people over the head with it, if they don't dodge too much...

Ah, yes! A staff!

Your father owned this staff—and others, too; some of them were actually magical!

He was a wizard, after all. He didn't want to teach you magic, though—something about it being "too complicated to be worthwhile"?

You were young, at the time.

Yeah, you kind of broke the chest. Well, it's not like you're going to live here any longer!

What do you do?

To start with, you pull out all the drawers, since that's where you think most of the loot will be!

...Well, okay, you know it'll be in the drawers, since you put it in there in the first place, but it's fun to pretend! Heroes don't just pack up their possessions before a journey; they loot them!

Okay, maybe they just empty their houses the normal way.

You dump out the chest, as well, but there's nothing in it. Disappointing, but a hero has to be thorough!

The sum of your possessions loot:

...Yeah, you're pretty poor. Only forty copper pieces to your name, and an inherited (not even magical!) amulet your only miscellaneous object—you're not one of those heroes that starts out strong, that's for sure.

You'll probably want to visit the market to pick up some food, at least, even if you don't want anything else. Can't journey on an empty stomach!

Check outside for a lumber axe or something. Sure a staff is good, but if we run into wolves or the like we can actually kill them.

Take shield, flower & flowervase.

When you're done looting the house, burn it down, for the vital tragic backstory. "My village house was destroyed!"

Alternatively sell it, that'd net more than a few copper pieces I'm sure, the thing seems a solid wooden construction. Houses aint cheap.

Kiss your beloved flower goodbye, may it be strong in your absence.

Loot our own stuff, burn our own house, then go buy some cheap food from the market. Also get a quest or two at the market!

Become barbarian hero. Go to a neighbouring (enemy) village, then loot the women,  torch the houses and carry off the fields as slaves.

I think you have that a bit off, I think it goes "Women, Fields, Then houses", But +1 anyway.
