True, but then the weakening if gravity lends to the idea that you are eventually going to reach an area where gravity no longer exists, and going up, it grows so strong that it physically crushes the characters to death in milliseconds. There's also the problem of the sky. The sky is in the center of the cylinder, so if every level were to have a sky, it is simply transuniversal travel to go to the next level. We could compromise and make a mix of both. Where going down relative to your current position would transplant you into another universe where gravity may be weaker and some choices turned out differently. Maybe there will be some distinctions in the directions. Like degrees on a compass. If you travel down from zero degrees you would be technically going up and you breach into the next universe with more gravity. If you go down at 180 degrees it can be considered down relative to the light source, ergo, less gravity. This next part makes it a bit tricky though. If you go down at 90 or 270 degrees, you go to an almost exact parallel universe where one decision was changed in the past, creating a new timeline. And then you know, forward and backward are temporal directions. How's that sound?

Maybe we could go for some temporal mind-fkery and have it be filled with every past present and future version of the character. And to avoid the character killing their past self or alternate self in this space, have all of them do the exact same thing at the exact same time. So if they were to cast magic missle into the past to kill their twenty years younger self, it would hit all of them at the same time killing all of them altogether. Or just have it be a space where you can see a physical representation of the separate universes and fly in-between them to get to whatever desired location you want to go to. The options there are littlerally endless.

I agree, but I also try to see the good and the coolnesses and workability of all the ideas being put forth. Ultimately it comes down to everyone else voting on it and us seeing what gets picked.

How about if there were only one god and no others?

Trouble is, this single god is a bit... difficult. And mysterious. And while it does seem to interfere in mortal business, it is unclear to what extent, in what form and to what effect - tales range all across the spectrum of possibility about it, starting from origin (such as 'she murdered all of her kin and asserted uncontested dominion', 'his virtue elevated him before the first men, who laid down their lives to sing him into godhood', 'it is the last aging remnant of a once all-powerful race of beings') and ending with the nature of its involvement in one supernatural event or another. As such, explanations about it tend to be wildly inconsistent with one another, as ultimately what all creatures see in God are themselves to one degree or another - perhaps truthfully at that.

I'd say some benign mixture of both. With most events having no interference from the god/gods, and for big events like wars and rather big battles where the gods can assert their influences.

In such instances, the gods directly take over a soldier on whichever side they like. Whether it's just for fun or they actually care about the outcome is hotly debated.

Also, how do you guys feel about me adding details such as the big obsidian things without a vote?

@Harry. Yes. Big obsidian things

I just didn't really see any mention of big obsidian things in the thread up to this point.

Do you mean obsidian monoliths? Obsidian statues? Obsidian steles erected as symbols of virility by some long-forgotten race of giants, in the shadow of which entire civilizations have both thrived and perished?

I was thinking that would be a later vote, after we start doing the actual form the terrain takes

Voting on pantheon is closed. voting is now open on the cosmology

What form does the multiverse take?

2. 4e style
3. Pathfinder style
4.Combination of above

Also, anybody have suggestions for good gods to steal or create?

Also, any ideas on the distinctions between gods and similar beings?
