Saucers in the night (SG) A job offer.
« on: February 16, 2016, 02:22:21 pm »

It's late and your half a sleep when it starts, tossing and turning bed to struggle to sleep when all of a sudden a bright light shines in thru your windows.
Then you see him standing in your room an unearthly figure, a short grey skin thing, it's stares at you with it's large black eyes.
It points a bulbous steel rod at you and you go limp, sprawling in your bed as a buzzing rings in your ear.
You can feel it stepping closer, leaning over you with a cold detachment as it brushes aside your hair with three fingered hand, it smooth rubbery skin gliding across your own.

You can hear the padding of you dog paws as the alien rock you head from side to side as it studys you like a lump of meat.

Havoc growl at it feet and the grey alien hisses from a small mouth of fang likes teeth.
There a thump as it kick her and sicking cracks as Havoc slams in the wall.

With rage you leap from your bed and smash you bedside lamp in to the aliens head raining down blow after blow.

You stand there in shock, panting wildly for breath as Havoc lets out final wimpier from her broken body.
You still numb as tyres squeal outside and dark suited pair force open your door at gun point...

The man in a black suit and shades stares at you.
"I am Mr. Jones.
You do not need to explain this.
You will not explain this.
Miss Clark will explain it to you.
Do you understand?" Mr. Jones speaks slowly in a monotone voice, it suits him like his black suit, nondescript.

You nod dumbly as he turns away and open a black body bag.

Miss Clark is the same, the same black suit, the same sunglasses and the same pale skin and raven hair.

"Please listen closely to me." she speaks softy in the queen's english.

She pulls her black sun glass's down and looks straight at your eyes.
Her green eyes seem to be "off" somehow set a little to deep.

"This was nothing more than a armed home invasion.
You where just defending your person from attack.
The department will remove the body.
Correct the law enforcement record for you citizen.
Repair any damage to the premises for you citizen.

Please remember.
You do not need to explain this.
You will not explain this.
It has been explained to you.
That is what happened here." you feel locked to her eyes as she speaks.

"Yes, That is what happened." The worlds just fall out of mouth as you nod in agreement at her.

"That is correct citizen.
I can see that you are in need of employment citizen
This agency has a suitable open for you citizen.
You will attend the aptitude assessment test citizen

You are getting sleepy.. very sleepy..."
You quickly fall asleep to her soft voice and bright green eyes....

----------------------

The dawn light wakes you up, and you can't but help that there something your missing, something you have almost forgotten.

Well what ever it is you'll have to think on it while you get ready for:

A) A job interview, something the the government you thing, you most have the card for it some where around here..

B) Shopping for some reason you dont feel safe in your house any more...

C) Police, you've go to call the police about that burgler you saw...

For some reason you don't feel safe in your house any more, like you could be attack at any moment.
Home invasion now there a scary thought, it a dangerous world out there and you need to protect your self.

Once dressed you head out shopping, maybe it'll take your mind off home invasion.

Mahal's Rifles and Rod is a small building at the edge of town, it's more of an over grown fishing and hunting supply shop than a gun store but it the only place in town you know of that sells weapons.

The inside smell as always of live bait and unwashed men.
You walk past the rows of fishing rods, nets and camping gear until you reach the firearms corner.

You barely have a minute before old Mahal is on you with his sales pitch.
"Can't decide can you? here let's have Henry run you're details while i fill on your choices..."

Your eye settle on the:

---------------------------------

Cash $1500
----------Shotguns------------
A) This is the 5D-OHS, it's a new model just come on the market.
It's a single barrel shotgun in 16 gauge, a pump-action with a 8 round magazine tube under the barrel.
It's a great gun for the clays, fast, accurate but a little less power than the full 12 gauge, but that make it easier to shoot.
$1300

B) The UK-A2, it's a triple barrelled shotgun, takes .410 bore and it's a break action so you only get 3 rounds.
The nice thing about this gun is it small, no stock and short barrels so it's good for home defence and small game, there a pistol grip for that bit of control.
$850
---Pistols----

C) The GH Blackout it's a small double-barreled derringer, fires .38 Special, 2 shots only but it's so small that you can hide it easily.
Lovely checked wooden grips on this one.
$350
D) The QR Fury, a semi-automatic pistol, shoots .38 ACP, 7 rounds
Small, light and easy to handle.
$600

E)Big hunting knife
$75

F) (Any thing reasonably sold in a fishing and hunting supply shop)
---------------------------------

Having made choices you head to counter and Mahal start to ring up your purchases.

"So you like the of look of that one? well here the bad news there a waiting period period for guns.

"Uh Mahal, computer say there wise, she's got express privileges, so no, you can take the guns now if want." Henry butt's in from behind the computer.

Well that unusual...
------------

Later that day.

You found the card in your trouser pockets, well you hope that it the right card, there just an address, a number and the opening hours printed on the card.

The address is that of a identity-less office building and thanks to the receptionist your headed to meeting room 3.

Sat at the table is a woman in a black suit, you feel that you recognise her from somewhere.

"You found the room, please come inside." she's got a quiet voice with refined

"Um This is right room for the job right?" you ask unsure if your in the right place.

"Yes.
Please take a seat and i'll start your aptitude assessment test citizen.
Simple questions on the form first:" She passes you a sheet of paper and a pen.

Spoiler: Character Sheet (click to show/hide)

You put the filled in sheet down on the table

"Given that you are here you must recall some of last night's events.
But you do not recall them all do you?
Can you recall me all?
Do even you know why your really here?
Are you here because you want find out more or because i told you to come here?
If i was to tell you that our plaint has been invaded by hostile extraterrestrial forces what would you think about it?"
She stares at you with her strange green eyes as she asks you more questions.

"I know why im here. aliens came, killed my dog and you f*cked my mind up!"
"I did not "f*ck your mind up", you'll be fine in a day or two.
Still that does explain you indecisiveness.
Please Your name for the records."
"I knew it, all this time aliens were secretly ruling us, that home invader must been working for them."

"Alien! Did you just call me an Extraterrestrial!?"
Her green eyes narrow in to slit like pupils as she glares at you.

(you do kind of need a name and a gender)

One for male and one for a girl, the tie beaker flip is 2, so your a girl.
Weapons, 1 so the first choice.

-------------
"Ehh my name is ...... Can't seem to remember due to that mindfuck, just call me Jane Doe. I think im a female let me check.... yea definitely a female."

"I must apologise to you Jane, you are far severely affected than i had anticipated.
Miss Doe as you now know the earth is under threat, extraterrestrial invaders threaten not only our way of live, our right, our liberalities but our lives.

I think that it's best that i tell you up front that earth is home to more than mankind, there are others, the return ones that have come back after the disaster.

Now i represent the department responsible for stopping theses attacks.
I want to offer you a job, we need good men and women like you to stop this.
You can get you're play back for you're dog and help stop the invaders.
Technically you'd be joining the Guard of Cecrops but every one just calls it the department.
Now there Full health care, veterans benefits, a great 401k, 8 week of paid holiday and the opertunity to travel.
What do you say will you help us stop the aliens?" she asks you.
