[5] Without giving it a chance of retaliation, you pulverize the fractured bull/centaur statue's head with your fist.
With its head instantly crushed, the animation magic is cut short, and the remnants of the statue crumble into pieces.

Out of the pile of rocks, a glowing golden light emerges. Essence. The mysterious living force of Monsters.

As your body absorb it, you get a glimpse of greater awareness. Like if you suddenly opened your eyes, only to close them the moment after.

You fall on your bottom, and sigh in relief. What a harsh morning call.

Suddenly some invisible thread wrapped around Gaverstep, and two giant arachnid monsters emerged from the ceiling, breaking from stealth.

Dahak the Fear Lord

Dahak's mind is filled with a mix of surprise and disappointment.

Dahak is disappointed because there's no place to hide in here, its just an open field of... Whatever this is.
He checks on his group for a bit. Delinde seems to be getting better, somehow, but then Dahak notices nihil is practically falling apart.

GUD LORDS JELLYS BOY, HANGHS IN THAR

While looking at Nihil, Dahak notices that the sigils on his new set of clothes, apart from not being very fashionable, are very similar to the rune things glowing on the ground.  Also, why exactly are these things glowing? Are they reacting to Nihil's clothes somehow?

Dahak deposits Nihil on the "ground". Nihil looks more like a pool of dark gelatin covered with priestly clothing now. Dahak then sits on the ground with delinde on one arm, as he pulls out and inspects his master's ritual notes. He ponders opening a tiny rift to the corruptor world to simulate a small corrupt environment around Nihil. Its nihil's homeworld after all, so maybe he'll feel better if exposed to it. Hopefuly the rift will be small enough so that nothing can come through.

Then Dahak remembers his usual luck with these things, and puts the notes away.

Bluhsh, its not likes we'resh in immediate dangersn now. I cannst shee da giants idiosth anymores.

Contrary to his usual self, Dahak decides to... Wait around? He's not entirely sure about what he should do, and he can't keep moving like this forever in this state, if a leg bone snaps he'll have to crawl.
Dahak gets one of the garlic cloves he got earlier and places a piece of garlic on top of nihil, and sticks another into Delinde's mouth.

He then decides to pray. This situation is only half desperate, but desperate enough to warrant praying. He tries to think of a god that could help them in this situation. For some reason, he can't stop thinking about really solid furniture.

A desperate prayer in a desperate situation. You didn't take the Theology course during your academic years, and you never really cared about mythology or religion much.

You pray, your mind sometime deviating toward furnitures for some reason.

To Delinde, your prayer has turned into an eldritch song from worlds untold. Those are no longer words coming from your mouth, but intelligible echoes foretelling something darker.
Your Corruptor Core is pouring black ichor, creating an inky pool at your feet.

She attempts to snap you out of your trance, but the effort reveals itself too much for her broken body. She collapses.

Nodus are being activated by an unknown party in the meantime. Successively, one by one, columns of spirit energy are raising toward the sky. The patterns on the ground are glowing, until the whole place is bathing in a white-blue light.

Unknowingly to you, hours pass. Hours praying to an otherworldly being.

Hours being controlled by the Corruption, hours inadvertently diverting the ancient device you are resting upon.
A device created by a forlorn people, a device used to convert massive amounts of Spiritual Energy into raw Magic Energy to be used by mages.

Follow the pre-laid plan. Capture several women or children. Make the rest run in utter panic to the city. Wait for their move while slowly burning the village to the ground.

Appearance: Dahak's appearance evokes a really large but still humanoid skeletal monstrosity made of a myriad of bones. Several skulls adorn and encircle his "neck" area, with Dahak's own skull having enlarged to equate to his new body proportions. His wraith cloth cloak seems alive and has glown large as well, covering him completely except for his head, and his aura is greater then ever before, though its not exactly enveloping him completely. It seems like a delayed shadow, following his movements like some sort of after image. His arms and hand bones are disproportionaly long and large for his already large new body.
He has a badass worn out cape and a scabbard with a holy dagger.

> Grand Core: Dahak's core has grown and shifted. Its no longer corrupted, and has actualy grown resistant to the influence of the corruptor world and other forms of mind altering magic. This doesn't mean Dahak can't be corrupted again, it only means he's a fair bit harder to corrupt then before.
>Fear incarnate: Dahak aura is now contagious. Enemies attacking Dahak have a change of being stricken with fear, and Dahak's physical attacks can also strike fear. This can have multiple effects depending on who or what is affected. Rolls caused by this trait don't trigger abnormality from another plane (since its not Dahak himself thats causing the rolls, but the enemy that gets affected by fear).

>Spook: Causes fear, may paralyze enemies. Doesn't work on mindless creatures.
>Feel the Fear: you can convert the fear of your victims into physical pain. Extreme fear will probably cause cardiac arrest.
>Feral Otherworldly Aura: When activated, Dahak's aura will twists into a random shape and performs an attack to a single or multiple enemies depending on what form it assumes. Activating this ability will cost MP and HP, and will drain HP and MP. Killing an enemy with this ability will recover some HP and MP.
>Weaponized aura: Dahak can merge with his aura to join his Int and Pow stats with his Str and Con stats, greatly increasing his combat prowess and toughness, but consumes mana every turn while its active. The aura can envelop Dahak like armor or be used like a weapon while its active. Feral Otherwordly Aura can't be used while this is active, but slain enemies return a small amount of HP or MP.

Behind her mask is hidden a surprisingly human face with a skin as pure as snow, with some strange ebon markings and symbols along her skin. Only her eyes are strange, as her eyeballs are black and her irises white. Her hairs are silvery and silky, tied in a neat ponytail.

His fangs are elongated and seem extremely sharp. He wears black clothes fit for a nobleman, with some purple accents here and there. An arming sword hangs at his side. As you take another look at him, you find yourself unable to turn away from his now blood-red eyes.

Traits:
Elder Vampire - Caedan is an elder vampire, and gains all advantages and disadvantages that come from being such a creature. He has matured enough as a vampire to be able to create thralls by feeding someone with his blood. Thralls are intensely loyal to their creator and become more physically capable due to their transformation. They do need to drink their master's blood every now and then, or they will perish. This also means that creating too many thralls may end up badly for the vampire, if he plans to keep them around. If the transformation into a thrall goes awry, it becomes much more like a monster and develops an intense craving for flesh
Night Vision - Caedan, as a vampire, sees perfectly well in the darkness. (unless all vampires come with this included, in which case replace this with Mesmerizing Eyes - Anyone staring too long into Caedan's eyes will sooner or later find themselves unable to resist his commands.)
Creature of the Night - Caedan becomes much stronger during the night, in addition to being harder to see.
Levitation - Caedan gains the ability to levitate and fly. Rather early for a vampire. Is it a sign of greatness? Or is it a mark of damnation?
Mesmerizing Eyes - Anyone who looks into Caedan's eyes for too long will end up unable to look away and become extremely vulnerable to suggestion, unable to resist most commands.

Blood Boil - A spell that increases the victim's blood temperature to extremely high levels, effectively boiling/melting them alive.
Mist Form - Caedan can change into mist, allowing him to pass through things like barred windows and other such things. Changing into mist also lets him hide his presence in the right area, unless whoever he's hiding away from can detect him by magic or a different ability. He can also use it to nearly completely evade physical attacks.
Blood of the Impaler - This is the spell Caedan uses when he needs something dead so badly that he doesn't care if he spills blood. It creates a field of sharp spikes made of what looks to be crystallized blood. The spell is designed to be hard to dodge due to the sheer amount of spikes coming out of the ground. It also works pretty well against groups.

What the hell is even happening? Dahak tries to think about it but gives up. So many weird things have happened by now that he just stopped asking.

However, he's still very inquisitive. Where the hell is Delinde and Snotbrain? Where the hell is he now? The last thing he remembers is attempting a vague prayer in a moment of need, and furniture, maybe some garlic. He also has a vague memory of Delinde trying to stop him.

Dahak pulls the key on his hand close to his face. Huh, he doesn't remember having a key. He also doesn't remember being naked, but as a skeleton, his sense of modesty has left him a long time ago. Maybe the corruption finally got the better of him?

Nah, this is different, Dahak doesn't feel the old distant feeling of dread that came from the corruptors. This is something completely new.

While just putting the key on the door and opening it seems like the obvious thing to do, Dahak has decided its time to stop being so heckless all the time, at least while others are being caught in it. Delinde and Nihil are prob still out there trying to not die either. The fact you don't know how long you've been here doesn't help, too. Its time to study the situation.

Then Dahak finally notices he doesn't have any of his equipment anymore, not even his dagger and cloak. This isn't so terrible, as there are less things to think about.
