Knowing he really shouldn't make Gardo anymore angry, Hertomal only added :

Stormslayer would Mindwipe Garm in preparation for his plan. Provided it succeeded, he would then order Garm to make his troops surrender.

Using your weight, you held Garm down as you buzzed your wings heavily. The sound penetrated through the body and mind of the man, and even with his superhuman strength and resilience, he slowly gave in to the Mindwipe.

Eventually, he was Mindwiped. But you could feel that this wouldn't last long, you never felt creatures with such a strong mind before. Not wasting a second, you ordered him to make his troops surrender.

It was a heavy gambit, but given the situation, you had nothing to lose.

First, his voice couldn't reach all men on the battlefield, that was normal.
Secondly, the absurdity of the order coming from their commander was met with high doubt. Some may have suspected mind control, and they would have probably shrugged off a monster ordering such a well-thought order through mind-control. But that was before confronting many, many kinds of monsters. Intelligent, strong and cunning. They saw everything.
So the officers relaying information to the squad captains asked again to Garm.

"Surr...Surrend...grr..."

This is no use. He is resisting too much.

But you took him out of battle, and by neutralizing the commander, you still put a heavy blow to the Human Army coordination.

Ako and Fica used their powers with great success to open a breach in the human incredible defense. The Sylvarian forces take advantage of this opportunity, doubling their assault. This is a risky move, as they will take more loss because of it.

Using the breach, the Sylvarian floods inside the walls of Eastenval One. A very dangerous move, as they are jumping straight into the jaws of the humans.
The Split Force turned out to completely become overwhelmed by the numerically superior human forces.
From a distance, the remaining battlemagi keeps unleashing spells over Sylvarians, while archers draw their swords and join the melee.

It turns out that the wall breaking offensive backfired terribly, as the Main Force was nearly annihilated. The Split Force didn't last long, being surrounded by the human soldiers.
On the human side, the Archer Corps got wiped out, and the Battlemagi Corps got nearly taken care off. The Main Force also sustained damages, but not as much as the Sylvarian hoped for...

You look around and realize the carnage that ensued. Sylvarians got decimated, victory is unsalvageable now.

Dahak just kinda... Stares at the thing. I mean, lots of weird things have been happening for a while now, but... Really? Giant transparent thing RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD FOR NO REASON?

As much as Dahak would love to use Nihil's "head" as a battering ram against this thing, he feels too lazy to do it. The thing isn't doing anything special, either, its just... There, being huge and annoying.

I didn't think I'd ever exist long enough to have a snorlax moment.
