Turn 61: Everyone bar Coptic

Stormslayer the Aradian Mirage Beetle Mystic

"My challenges grow ever greater, Arbos. After the new princess hatches, I must care for her and ensure she survives. With my colony gone, I cannot afford to break my vigil, not until she has hatched. Even afterwards, I must remain watchful, as the humans put all their efforts into destroying the hive while I was away, and doubtless they will do the same again if they discover a princess still lives.
 Not one of my kin escaped alive, and it was by fate alone that guard-kin, my closest brother, was keeping our future from being extinguished entirely. I dare not break vigil, but If you come to offer me sustenance, I will gladly accept it."

Worn out but determined, He would remain alert even if eating. he would keep an eye to the egg, and the other to the edges of the clearing.

Arbos first looks at you with eyes full of compassion and sadness. But then, his eyes flare with a deep determination.
"I will go fetch you some sustenance, and I will keep watch with you, if you don't mind my presence."

[4] Arbos leaves for a mere five minutes before coming back with colorful fruits and the carcass of a small creature.
"I heard your kin were carnivorous, so here is some source of meat to accompany the fruits."

Both of you dine and watch in a friendly atmosphere. Arbos is an agreeable fellow, always smiling and speaking about creatures and places from beyond the forest. A curious individual, having amassed a decent pool of knowledge despite not having been able to travel.

You don't know how many hours pass by, the night is altering your time perception.

But after a long moment, you feel something coming from the egg. An inaudible noise of something cracking.
You immediately stand up and rush at the side of the egg, which is encircled with roots and vines.

Is is hatching. As if the Lifetree felt it, the protective cage surrounding the shell retracts and leaves it openly displayed.

The egg's shell is gold colored, like the sand under the sun at its zenith. As it crackles more, a faint light is seen escaping from the inside.

You never saw a royal egg hatch before, but the ongoing phenomenon does feel different from what you would expect. If you were to make a guess, you would say the Lifetree has a hand in this.

A larva bigger than a watermelon and approximatively half a meter long emerges from the egg. The larva body is visibly soft and squishy, covered with mucus. The larva young chitin is pale yellow in color, with a unique marking on its head : the mark of royalty.

Caedan the Bloody Impaler

Give the human a few drops of my blood, see if that wakes him up. In other words, make him a thrall. Unless that would put me at below 10HP. In which case just drain him. If successfully thralled, take him along so that he can get some payback. Check the source of the wailing.

[5] You cut your wrist open with your sword, and pour a trickle of blood in the mouth of the unconscious young man. You watch very carefully as your blood enter his mouth and flow into his throat.

You never tried this before, but an instinctive knowledge is telling you vampire blood has particular properties on living beings. You also know a part of the process is controlled by your own will : only drinking your blood isn't enough to convert a being, your presence is required.

"You shall be my first thrall" you says to the man like if he should owe you for this.

The man eyes suddenly open, the red veins in his eyeballs turning black. As for his iris, it is becoming bright red.
His body twitches and contorts, as if inhabited by too much power.

Then the man screams. Not in pain. More like a newborn gasping for air.

The tan skin of the peasant takes a more pale complexion, but not as pale as the moon.

The man suddenly turns on his side and rise on his knees, his head facing the ground. He is breathing heavily.

Rising his head, he looks at you in the eye. His eyes are still full of resolution and will.

"What have you done to me ?"

You are surprised. This is unexpected. Is it a good or a bad omen from Fate ? The man is clearly not a thrall, he is not a mere puppet.
He is something more, though you can't put your finger on what. And why he became like this.

The three of you surprisingly agree to evenly share the salvaged essence, despite knowing each other since a mere day.
[4] There is such a large amount of essence, neither of you have ever seen so much in the same place. It seems you were lucky the essence of the humans and sand mantas didn't disappear, and that the batoid wasn't Awakened like you. As such, it didn't absorb the essence and actually slowed its dispersion in the air by keeping it in its body.

Durst the Demonic Rock Prophet

Durst stands up dizzily, then makes a run for the golden orb. He hurls himself atop the magical object, curling the object defensively below his stone formations. He then deploys the mana shield again.

[1] You stand up dizzily, stunned but fully conscious. Without wasting a second you make a run toward the golden orb, but your body responds bizarrely. Your left leg move instead of your right arm, sometime the right leg does instead, and that's not event he end of it.

Your whole body coordination is completely jumbled over, and you stumble and fall miserably.

Purple demon roll : [1]
"HAHAHAHAHA ! YOU FOOL, YOU THOUGHT I ONLY RELIED ON RAW POWER ?!" the purple demon is gloating like an evil mastermind, laughing in a condescending way.

-the beam that hit you ! It must have had some kind of body coordination jamming secondary effect-

He begins descending toward the orb, controlling his flight through some sort of levitation. Then an huge land shark suddenly appears out of nowhere and closes his jaws on the demon. This is Mold-Tooth.

Mold-Tooth roll : [2]
Mold-Tooth took advantage of the opening to enact revenge on the demon, intending to devour him whole. He intended to break the humanoid in two with one bite, but something isn't right. The frail demon seems far more sturdy than what he imagined.
Turns out he only managed to snap the horns of the demon.

The last stand of the land sharks ends in a pretty non spectacular way. Pushed to their limit, the land sharks still alive that didn't manage to flee are being culled one by one. The demons are taking their time too.

This is the end, apart from Mold-Tooth and a few scarce alive land sharks, all of them have fled or perished.

Dahak the Fear Lord

...I don't even know anymore.

As much as Dahak hates the entirely inappropriate snot creatures the corruption likes to use, he can't bear to take this GODDAMN THING seriously anymore.

... A lot of good you are, snotbrain, not only you can't find them, but THEY can find YOU, like some sort of idiotic reverse location spell.

He then turns and looks at the pitiful, tiny blob thing that seems to be pretending to be very threatening.

Sigh... Nobody gets off Mr. Skeleton's wild ride, I guess.

Dahak walks around a bit while the slimy black ichory thing veeeery slowwwwly inches towards his group. It actualy seems far more curious then angry. Delinde seems to be having trouble deciding if she's disappointed or amused, and Nihil seems to find it a bit cute.

Dahak then grabs a boulder that got displaced by the huge corruptor creature from before, and starts to calmly roll it towards the creature while quietly singing a tune.

~On the crest of eternity, a bell for eveeeeeery daaaay, thaaaat I've lived in silent search, of the mirrored cage ♫~

Dahak has no idea where he got that tune from.

Squish the damn tiny thing under the boulder, then try to triangulate the direction the actualy scary corruptor creature was heading towards, and go in that direction. Try to calm Nihil if he gets upset as you squish what seems to be his baby

[6] You sigh and lift a large boulder, at least ten time the size of the blob. You unceremoniously drop the load on the blob, provoking a soft *squish* behind the loud *pouf*.
Droplets of black goo are dispersed all around, dirtying your cape and...

The droplets that landed on you manage to crawl to your core, corrupting you a little.

Delinde is making a grossed out face.
Nihil shouts the longest "NooooOooOoOoooo" you ever heard, before ending with "I wanted to keep iiiit".

"Ew. *Sigh* What was that exactly Nihil ?" asks Delinde in a tired voice.
"It was the incarnation of the nearby corruption locus, in a ruined village if your memory that I now have serve well. It was extremely weak for some reason, like if troublemakers attacked the locus or something."

[1] You begin trying to triangulate the direction where the body was heading.
1) It was heading toward the West when it encountered the humans, and everyone knows the West is where the sun set.
2) And the sun shines brightly, like a candle. And night butterflies are attracted by candle.
3) Yes, butterflies. They are insects that eat pudding in the morning, before going partying with ospreys.

You are thoroughly confused as to what you were trying to do, over-thinking all of this with while having being slightly corrupted seem to have affected your thought process.

You approach the "essence", it seems terribly dangerous and volatile. Unauthorized personal shouldn't manipulate them...or something ?

It makes sense to you, so you head toward the essence. It is suddenly absorbed by your body, though you don't really know how or why.

[5] You head back to the lair, and upon seeing the lifeless body of Barak, you jump on the remaining monster and claw him so savagely that his head is ripped of its body and flies across the lair.

You turn back and see Bargar mourning over Barak's dead body. He doesn't even look at the corpses of the aggressors or at you to see if you are okay.
"Why ?... Barak..." he is terribly affected by the loss of his cousin.

((I've realized that I'm fighting a battle of attrition against dice rolls, since I still have no means to quickly recuperate either HP or MP. Earlier, I got close to next stage by this time and it was mostly negligible. To sum up, as soon as we investigate hills, I'll ask demoness to finally camp and let me properly heal.

[6] When you mention stronger entities, it instantly rouses Astrosa's interest.
"Yes... I was thinking the same thing."

You realize you made a mistake right there. She is not going to want to rest after suggesting this.

You both fly toward the uninhabited hills. You arrive slightly above them, the vegetation here is less dense than a forest's, but is still quite dense. The ground is by moment composed of soil, and by moment composed of gray rock. Pine trees are the most present trees here.

You land and begin floating around, looking for something interesting. At first, you thought these hills were rather plain.
But a strange feeling progressively rises inside you. There is something strange and eerie about these lands, but you can't put your hand on it.

Astrosa seems on her guard too.

You ask her if it would be possible to set up a camp, so that you can tend to your wounds.
[3] Your request is heard with mild success.
"Mmh yes, that's a reasonable idea. I forgot you couldn't regenerate like me. Wait me here then, there is still something I need to check. I have a strange presentiment."

She leaves you alone after you spotted some suitable place to rest. A formation of rocks that makes a good hiding spot.
[6] You catch a small bird and eat it as a dinner. Then you comfortably make yourself at home and...

Appearance: Durst is a humanoid rock creature, about as large as a human. Amethyst fissures-like marks can be seen coursing along his rocky body. Due to him being a rock, he has lived for hundreds of years, many of which were spent dormant absorbing the natural mana waves in the air.

Appearance : A tall, pale man. His grey hair reaches his shoulders and is rather lazily tied into a ponytail. His reddish-grey eyes feel as if they can pierce right through you. His fangs are elongated and seem extremely sharp. He wears black clothes fit for a nobleman, with some purple accents here and there. An arming sword hangs at his side. As you take another look at him, you find yourself unable to turn away from his now blood-red eyes.

Traits:
Elder Vampire - Caedan is an elder vampire, and gains all advantages and disadvantages that come from being such a creature. He has matured enough as a vampire to be able to create thralls by feeding someone with his blood. Thralls are intensely loyal to their creator and become more physically capable due to their transformation. They do need to drink their master's blood every now and then, or they will perish. This also means that creating too many thralls may end up badly for the vampire, if he plans to keep them around. If the transformation into a thrall goes awry, it becomes much more like a monster and develops an intense craving for flesh
Night Vision - Caedan, as a vampire, sees perfectly well in the darkness. (unless all vampires come with this included, in which case replace this with Mesmerizing Eyes - Anyone staring too long into Caedan's eyes will sooner or later find themselves unable to resist his commands.)
Creature of the Night - Caedan becomes much stronger during the night, in addition to being harder to see.
Levitation - Caedan gains the ability to levitate and fly. Rather early for a vampire. Is it a sign of greatness? Or is it a mark of damnation?
Mesmerizing Eyes - Anyone who looks into Caedan's eyes for too long will end up unable to look away and become extremely vulnerable to suggestion, unable to resist most commands.

Skills:
Blood Metabolism - Drinking blood rejuvenates vampires.
Blood Boil - A spell that increases the victim's blood temperature to extremely high levels, effectively boiling/melting them alive.
Mist Form - Caedan can change into mist, allowing him to pass through things like barred windows and other such things. Changing into mist also lets him hide his presence in the right area, unless whoever he's hiding away from can detect him by magic or a different ability. He can also use it to nearly completely evade physical attacks.
Blood of the Impaler - This is the spell Caedan uses when he needs something dead so badly that he doesn't care if he spills blood. It creates a field of sharp spikes made of what looks to be crystallized blood. The spell is designed to be hard to dodge due to the sheer amount of spikes coming out of the ground. It also works pretty well against groups.

Appearance: An oversized lizard made of glass. It shimmers with mesmerizing white light. Its body seems to inhabit both ice and electricity in an harmonious equilibrium. Its glass scales are cyan and yellow, and shine beautifully. A golden core can be seen on its torso.

Mesmerizing: Those who look too directly might find themselves entranced.

Regenerative Core: you can regenerate your lost body parts and your recovery is greatly increased. Passively, drain a small portion of MP to heal you. Can be activated to increase its regenerative powers.

Calcifying Venom: Bites will gradually turn the victim into a pearly statue.
Elemental Breath -Ice and Electricity-

Name: Dahak
Species: Fear Lord -stage 3-
Appearance: Dahak's appearance evokes a really large but still humanoid skeletal monstrosity made of a myriad of bones. Several skulls adorn and encircle his "neck" area, with Dahak's own skull having enlarged to equate to his new body proportions. His wraith cloth cloak seems alive and has glown large as well, covering him completely except for his head, and his aura is greater then ever before, though its not exactly enveloping him completely. It seems like a delayed shadow, following his movements like some sort of after image. His arms and hand bones are disproportionaly long and large for his already large new body.
He has a badass worn out cape and a scabbard with a holy dagger.

>Abnormality from Another Plane : because of its connection with the "Corruptor World", Dahak's very presence can and will cause strange phenomenons. If Dahak rolls a [1] or a [6], rolls from anything close to Dahak will get reduced or increased by 1.
-If a [1] is decreased by 1, it will become a [6], if a [6] is increased by 1, it will become a [1].
-another unaffected roll will be done by the GM, to determine what will appear or happen because of Dahak connection...
> Grand Core: Dahak's core has grown and shifted. Its no longer corrupted, and has actualy grown resistant to the influence of the corruptor world and other forms of mind altering magic. This doesn't mean Dahak can't be corrupted again, it only means he's a fair bit harder to corrupt then before.
>Fear incarnate: Dahak aura is now contagious. Enemies attacking Dahak have a change of being stricken with fear, and Dahak's physical attacks can also strike fear. This can have multiple effects depending on who or what is affected. Rolls caused by this trait don't trigger abnormality from another plane (since its not Dahak himself thats causing the rolls, but the enemy that gets affected by fear).

Only her eyes are strange, as her eyeballs are black and her irises white. Her hairs are silvery and silky, tied in a neat ponytail.
