I'm Stuck In a Goblin Tower

I just fought my way up to the top of a goblin tower, I had an epic little show down with a bunch of gobs. I used a ramp with a hatch cover over it to get up. I can't go back down now. Does any one know why?

You need to find the good spot on one of the adjacent to the hatch cover and press ALT+the direction until you see the game offering you to move to 2 directions instead of one, one of those direction will be the ramp below the hatch.

Learn to use hatches. But if you really want to take the fast way down, jump off right over a door and you'll get the option to catch yourself just inside the trench. If you don't fail the grab, you won't splat.

I admit; happened to me too. I figured out the smooth walls because I had spent ~10 mins cursing while trying to climb up from the bottom. Then at the top I thought I was being clever jumping to the trench, but I hadn't sheathed my weapon.

press a direction+ctrl to down a hatch(or anthing else in that direction) press direction+shift to up in the same way

Holding alt while pressing the direction you want to go will let you move carefully, so you can see if you can walk into the ramp (you might be able to open the hatch with interact 'u' and then alt+move into empty air, falling down 1 z-level. Not sure if you can 'u' hatches though).

The question has already been answered! It's now time to hijack this thread!

You're not stuck in a goblin tower until you've run around the dungeons several times trying to find a way up or a way down. And have you ever tried sleeping and wake up on the roof? Fast travel won't solve that, the only way down is the hard way.
