Are there thugs within 30m? My optical mechadendrite removes penalties from darkness within 30m.

Oh. I'll remember that for next time. All the thugs are within 10m, and the heavies are behind cover 15m away. It wouldn't have hit anyhow but thanks for catching that.

Ok, I'm not sure what to do.
I assume I can charge them and attack at least one of them.
However, I'd prefer if I didn't then get swarmed and murdered by them all in melee.

Suggestions? Tactics?

I want to replace the damage die with the number of DoS (rule on pg.227 of the core book, top of the page).

@Gigla: The chainaxe ones will probably get you killed pretty fast, while the thugs will outnumber you but probably flail helplessly at your resilience if they have nothing but their fists and improvised weapons (revolver butt strikes).

And since Kalta is up next, any suggestions? I was thinking Aim and then Shoot at one of the chainaxe guys, but if there's something else to do I'm open to suggestions.

@Cheesecake: Pinning Tests are made at the end of the character's turn, not at the beginning. The thugs should still be pinned this turn and taking a -20 BS penalty as well as sticking to Half Actions.

@Gigla: Correcting my previous statement, they could use the revolvers on you in melee, but then they wouldn't get a ganging up bonus and the lackluster damage of the stubs would probably play in your favor. They'd also be. Still better than being torn apart by chainaxes.

@Twin: Fire at Overcharge mode for +1 damage, and I advise the heavies as a target. A Called Shot might be better than a standard shot in case the cover the heavies have is good enough - need to re-check the description - but if the cover is negligible, you're probably better off using the long-las on Overcharge to punch through light cover and deliver a whoomp while benefiting from the Half Aim + Standard Shot bonus. Alternatively, spend this whole round aiming then next turn you can benefit from Called Shot + the usual bonus from aiming and Accurate.

To be honest, it would be mostly a matter of deleting part of the turn since they wouldn't had gotten any hit in. My character wasn't one of the wounded by a shot so I guess the decision is up to them. The damage might be the difference between bleeding and squealing all over the ground, though.

@Gigla: Yes, but they'll chop you up anyway. Pulling back isn't exactly easy.

The turn is edited, but the rolls are the same. The thugs's shots were still good enough to hit Irlven and Kalta even without the +10 aim and with the -20 to BS. They won't be pinned for the next turn.

I'm planning on laying down another burst of Suppressive Fire, which, if you're engaged in melee, you'll avoid. It'll make it a lot harder for them to gang up and attack you.

Sod it, we're all in chainaxe charge range anyway.

Prioritise keeping those brutes pinned and/or dead.
Hopefully the chaff can't do too much damage.
Maybe they'll panic and try using melee.

ATATH, would you like me to use the action you posted previously or use a new one? Psychic powers don't necessarily ignore cover; the Assail power has 2 Penetration.

Also, you can't do the same psychic power twice in one turn.
