Is this biome reanimating? I really don't want to know what happens when "absurd numbers of megabeasts" is combined with "reanimating biomes".

Ok this just got a bit more ridiculous. There was this marsh titan that attacked my fort and got killed. I retired the fort about 6-7 years later, and saw this in legends:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It somehow managed to "destroy" the totem I traded to the humans 5 years after it died.

So the problem is not just ninja dragons, there's ninja ghost titans as well.

Well, did you create a slab for the titan? No? Then why are you surprised that it came back as a vengeful ghost?

;)

But seriously, this is clearly a bug that ends up blaming something semi-random for the destruction of the masterwork, rather than blaming trading, since trading isn't supposed to be destruction.

Have them killed. Nothing solves a problem quite as effectively as simply having it killed.

Haha that would be a pretty !!fun!! feature, especially if its fire breath/dust attack still worked after death

It's like the game's version of when you go to the justice screen and convict a random kitten of all those unsolved murders.

Someone already posted this bug to the tracker, having discovered a hydra had been supposedly melting his masterworks.

It's kind of like the bug where Legends inserts a random titan/giant spider into reports of rescuing lost children for no real reason but to make life just a little more exciting.

Ah, Dwarf Fortress. Where a fix can screw everything else over because you've tied everything together under the hood.

And we wouldn't have it any other way.
Funnily enough its not just the games designed this way, its often the fortresses as well.

NO USING THE SAME LEVER FOR ALL DRAWBRIDGES, THE MAGMA RELEASE AND ALL GOBLIN CAGES IS PERFECTLY ECONOMICAL

This person. I like this person.

I hope Toady looks into this soon. This bug is killing my fort in 0.42.06, since masterwork roasts are a highly valuable commodity--and I can't separate them out of food pots to sell just the exceptional ones instead.

Forbid them from the stocks menu, then order all your pots brought to the depot.  They'll take the forbidden masterworks out of the pot before bringing it.  Don't forget to unforbid them afterward.

I think the more of a masterwork a dwarf makes, the less they'll be sad when they lose one.

So just make a ton of roasts, so he won't care no more.

AFAIK it's not a big loss, they have generally a lot of positive thoughts from making stuff

That doesn't help if I want to trade them all away, though.

Yes, it probably would help. Bad thoughts=game over is a long, long way in the past. Two or three bad 'masterwork lost' thoughts and the rest will probably be 'felt nothing at witnessing destruction of a masterpiece (by dead titan)'. At which point you can safely trade the lot. Probably...

at this moment, bad thoughts stress generating, stack each other, so 1 or 2 item masterworks wouldn't be a big fuss, but tons... tons of masterwork losses, could pose a threat
