Social stealth is the ability to blend with the social surroundings and not stand out. Great for getting in and out of high security places with little notice, given the right disguise.

Pragmatism is dirty tactics, using unfair, compromising, and taboo methods to get what you want. Like blackmailing the president with the threat of uploading his affair to the social network if he doesn't supply the terrorists more weapondry. (Or more simply, kicking a man in the crotch during a fist fight)

Name: Francis
Appearance: Blond guy with high cheekbones and a strong jawline. His grey eyes are constantly hidden behind a pair of aviator shades. He wears a light blazer over a tanktop and some dark jeans. His shoes are dressy, yet functional.
Age: 21
Backstory: Francis studied at an augmentative technology university. He graduated top of his class and was seen as a natural tech genius. He even published several works with a renowned professor. A month after Francis graduated his professor was caught fabricating data and embezzling funds. Suddenly no one wanted to hire Francis. Francis began making augments and other tech and selling them to less than savory individuals as well as hacking into banks for funds.
Aspects: computer tech (3), augement tech (3)

This game seems to have a higher roleplay focus than I usually go for, but I gotta improve my RP anyways. Thanks for reminding me to watch Ghost in the Shell though, I've been meaning to watch it for ages now, but I keep forgetting.

Name: Ryker Frost
Appearance: A tall, black haired man with a well-built body. His grey eyes scan his surroundings as if he expects danger to come at any moment. He wears a dark trench coat (fitted with kevlar inserts for increased protection) on top of his black clothes, which are similarly reinforced. His fingerless gloves have steel studs on the knuckles. They seem to be slightly stained with a red liquid.
Age: 28
Backstory: Being orphaned while still young, life in the American slums wasn't easy. Soon after losing his parents, Ryker had to turn to crime to survive. Surprisingly enough, he managed to evade capture. When he turned 19, he realized that small crime isn't worth its risks and signed up with a private security company (one of the seedier ones at that). After a few years of work and picking up skills, he went freelance as a gun-for-hire. And that brings us to the present day.
Aspects: Gunslinger (3), CQC (2), Bulletproof/Tough (1) (if that can't be a thing, put the point into CQC)

Weapon wise, he's armed with something like a .44 Mateba Hunter and a KM2000 knife. Considering Ryker's profession, he's probably employed by Ken as a bodyguard or something similar.

I like how 3/5s of us are wearing suits :p.

Edit-

Yeah, Ken, Ryker, and Francis have fairly good reasons to be coworkers from the start. Not sure how to integrate the hobo or ghost though :/.

Alright, social stealth is what I thought it would be then. I didn't want to just assume.

I'm having a little trouble with pragmatism though. It seems kind of broad, if you get what I mean? Both blackmailing the president and kicking a guy in 'nads are pragmatic, sure, but they're wholly different things. I'm liable to let it be though, if none of the other players have any problems with it, since we're focusing more on the rp and less on minmaxing.

Another techie eh? You're in. L-l-l-l-l-look at you, hacker. A pa-pa-pathetic creature of meat and bone.

It's cool. I'll use tough for when you need to roll defences or something.

Allright, that's it, signups closed for now. we've got what, six people? Once ATHATH fixed his second aspect. I'll adjust the OP and then post again to discuss some thing. brb.

A little thing for all of you. I typically do not roll for charisma/speech stuff unless you make it an action. So long as you just type out what your character says an npc will react accordingly. Those of you with social skills can always put it in an action to get better results then you would otherwise achieve though.

I fully understand what you mean. I'll go ahead and change my second aspect to "persuasion", if that's alright? That way my skills are more specialized and not so broad.

Edit: my new aspect is Sabotage: I go in, mess things up, and get out without notice.

That's absolutely fine, yes.

eyyy, mateba's a sexy gun. Also, you should totally watch it. Be aware that there's three continuities though. There's the 1995 movie and its sequel gits: innocence. Then there's Stand alone complex, two season and a few ova's and movies. And then there's the very recent ARISE reboot(?). I didn't like ARISE all that much since they redid the Major's design, but I saw the 2015 movie yesterday and it was pretty good. The ending was a nice touch. It made me appreciate ARISE a little more.

Now, as for the start of our little adventure. How would you all feel about starting out in a south african airport? Ryker could be a hired gun by Ken, while the rest of you could either be strangers or know them in some fashion. Up to you if you want to start of as strangers or not.

I could be the guy that starts things off with a "bang" :D ! But yeah, I'll be a stranger, maybe some sort of criminal contact.

Oh don't worry. We're starting off with a bang anyway. Nothing like some adrenaline fueled action to make new friends, amirite?

Yeah, South African airport is fine. Gotta get them weapons moved. Would be a shame if something happened to them.

And you'd be right. The fight scenes were bretty great and the parts where the major dives into the net were pretty good. After the ending I was hyped enough to start this. Probably going to watch the entirety of stand alone complex again, too.

Also, since this is my first time on this board. Do we play in this thread, or do we use this one as OOC and get a seperate game thread?

I'd prefer a separate IC thread, but you can use this as the Game thread too. It's just my little preference, and other great games have only one thread here.

I have no real preference for having a separate IC thread, but I guess that having one is better than not having one.
