The Age of Doom has begun!
« on: December 09, 2007, 08:32:00 am »

After a floodgate incident, my military has been reduced to one and that soldier has my only sword, set of armor and shield, a moment after that a goblin siege AND a bronze colossus arrived! I wasn't able to take pics, I abandoned after they arrived.

Bah, you should have let the colossus and the gobbos duke it out, then sent in the swordsdwarf to mop up the survivors. If the goblins won, anyway.   :p

I do not look forward to it.

Will you be able to trap him? He would make an awesome addition to any zoo!

Can a Colossus be trapped in a Cage? I have a few Steel Cages hanging around. I can definitely dig a side tunnel, put down several cage traps then just Channel out the wall. I better be sure about this, or there will be alot of dead dwarves

Update: Oh god my traps somehow failed to go off...

Yes, all megabeasts can be trapped in cages (even dragons in wooden cages). You can even tame dragons, however they suffer from the same bug other named creatures have in that while they are tame they will still eat dwarves sometimes.

For future reference, I hear colossuses make great archery practice targets - they're very strong, so they give lots of experience per shot, and they've got no organs for the bolts to pierce.
