"I'm gonna go with Romans to check out the lake. It's best to check out the local source of water when we're not being harassed by zombies, you know? Just be sure to pile all that wood together in one of those buildings for later."

Andres accompanies Romans to the lake.

Demon takes one of the logs, and then leaves the house, realizing that there isn't much more for her here. She decides to leave the settlement, but realizes she should probably say something so they know she's gone. She heads back to the rest of the group ((before they've head off)). "Hello there, 'companions'. I've been thinking, and after some hard decisions, I've decided to leave you to your business! You people have fun, I'm going to Woodchuck Falls, to see if I can find any other survivors. Tag along if you wish, I do not mind, as long as you don't get in the way."

She then proceeds to leave, and heads to Woodchuck Falls.

GM Comment
I think some of you are misunderstanding the general time scale that this game was intended to happen at. As a reminder:

* For general time scale, I'm thinking turn updates will typically constitute about a day of game time, more or less.

The introduction post, already told you that the trading post was thoroughly looted. I was not leading you, expecting you to say "ok we search it some more" and then tell you the search result as an update and then for you guys to say "oh, well I pick up that up thing" and then tell you "you succeed in picking up the thing" as the next update. And yet we still have people still trying to search the place that's already been searched and never needed to be searched because I told you in the introductory post that it had been thoroughly looted. Like IronyOwl is pointing out in the OOC thread, there's nothing left to find. You can stop looking now.

The party seems to be splitting up...which is ok, but it's going to take days to reach other towns, and it's a problem if some people are submitting actions that could reasonably take them to sundown, while other people are submitting actions that would take 5 minutes.

Don't tell me what you want to do with for the 5-10 minutes. Tell me what you want to do for the next 5-10 hours. It's about 12:30pm right now. Tell me what you want to do between now and sundown.

I'm going to let it go for now, and the people trying to do lengthy actions like travel to the next town are going to have to wait a bit, but after this, I'm not going to be doing that anymore. You've now been warned. If you want to not be glossed over, I recommend you submit actions more meaningful than "I look around." yes, if everybody agrees to zoom in to a smaller timescale, as happened with the last update, we can do that. But I'm not going to hold everybody else back just so you can twiddle your thumbs.

Romans, Andres and Pencil
I'm going to the lake to fill up my waterskin you coming??[/color]
Check out the lake.
Romans is going to the lake to refill her waterskin.
Andres accompanies Romans to the lake.
Pencil heads to the smaller lake to fill his waterskin, and tells everybody else where he is going, looking for anything edible along the way.

Romans, Andres and Pencil Arht set off north towards the lake, seeing Dustan and DigitalDemon heading in that general direction as well. The lake itself is about a mile up the road. Leaving the dirt road, the two of you watch as Dustan and DigitalDemon continue to the north.

The lake itself extends far enough to the north that it's difficult to make out the northern shore. Looking out over it, it seems still and quiet.

Romans and Pencil refill their water skins directly from the lake. (7 days of unpurified lakewater)

Dustan and DigitalDemon
"Gah. Looks like we have to go to one of the other towns. There's nothing here of value short of the wood. Let's move out."
He would stalk outside, heading northward following the path to the lake town. He would keep a eye on the roadsides, hoping to spot something moving that was not person shaped.
She then proceeds to leave, and heads to Woodchuck Falls.

The two of you set off up the north road, with Romans, Andres and Pencil nearby for the first several minutes of your trip. As you pass the lake, those two exit the road and approach the lake. You two continue down the road.

(GM Comment: Sorry for the delay. As mentioned at top of post, some people aren't understanding the intended timescale here. So bear with it for the next update, and we can have you on your way. I just don't want to jump to night time right now when 6 out of 8 players are submitting like 5-10 minutes worth of actions.

Crazyabe and Hawk
I Start scavenging the buildings, Might as well see if anyone missed anything...
join the others in searching the buildings and exploring the area.

the two of you continue to find yet more broken furniture and the occasional loose human bone, as well as a few of the same bent nails and scraps of cloth that have already been found. And the empty farm plot is still there. As are the dirt roads and trees and roads and things. You have a sneaking suspicion that if you search a third time, you'll probably find that things will continue to still be present. Perhaps if you have something more specific to do, some place more specific to search, you might find something more specific. Or perhaps if you have something specific that you're attemtping to look for or do, you might meet with better result. But for now, "looking around" you find exactly the same things that have already been found in previous "lookarounds."

You feel a moment of reassurance that the world you live in is constant and consistent. Can you imagine if the underlaying fabric of reality was constructed such that simply by doing the same thing multiple times you might magically have different results, as if a die roll could change the world? Look in a box once, and it's empty, look in it a second time, and a monster leaps out and eats your face? Fortunately, you don't live in a such a random world. This comforts you greatly.

Kasyyk
I look for somewhere high, such as a roof or convenient tree to climb and survey the area for any thing interesting.

The most obvious vantage points would be from the roof of one of the three buildings. While the store and house have only a single story, the tavern is two stories, so you head for that.

You pass Dustan, Andres and Romans leaving as you make your way inside. Since they're not covered in blood or zombie guts, you conclude that the inside was unoccupied. Heading for the second story and walking out onto the balcony you see  the majority of your party heading north in two separate groups, Romans, Andres and Pencil towards the lake, while Dustan and DigitalDemon continue up the north road.

Examining the area more generally, there's what looks like an empty, abandoned farm plot behind the tavern, while the west seems to be a grassy plain and you spy a sparse woods to the east, leading to mountains visible in the distance. A few of the peaks are visibly snowy. It's only two more weeks until winter. It occurs to you that it would probably be wise to have made arrangements before the cold really sets in. if you're fortunate, you probably have a few weeks.

See if there are fish in the lake in the lake, if so try to spear one for dinner.

Then follow the rest to Woodchuck Falls.

(this is fine with me, of course you could choose to throw events our way if you pleased. Travel is rarely uneventful in a zombie apocalypse.)

"Right, I think it's about time we got going. We can't just hang around here forever. I'll leave the wood with you, Romans."

Andres follows Dustan and DigitalDemons to Woodchuck Falls.

(except me. I Am going to lake town. In all honestly, it's the smartest move unless it's looted before we arrive. It SHOULD be within 3 days rations, and even if it's not, it shouldn't exeed 4 days, meaning we might starve slightly, but could gather supplies there.)
