"w-what are you saying?  This is all going wrong!!  We're here to help people!"
I'm kidding, there will benno torturing or interogation, if need be we can knock a bunch out and kidnap family members. Wives, chuldren and such just to get them to obey. We won't harm them of course!

Absolutely not. We convince them that they need to evacuate, and help them evacuate, and ask questions to get a better sense of the lay of the land. Looking at this place I'm not sure they'd need much convincing, but you never know what attachments people hold...

"...sure you did.  so the idea is to do a circuit of the area from the shuttle, land very briefly to take a volunteer, and then drop off the builders while someone stays in the shuttle to man the turret?

or would a vet team on the ground be the ones finding somebody and asking questions? "

Fair enough, things could get really terrible down there and we might not have time for morals. But I don't want us making things worse.

Lyra, Team 4 Firestorm, Messaging Team 4 Firestorm and Team 5 Blizzard
Quote from: Lyra to Firestorm and Blizzard
Suggestion: Large Bridge. Long, Wide, Straight Corridor. Designed for large traffic. Access from 2 sides. Portal at Center. Open. Easy to Overwatch.Vulnerabilty: Bridge Destruction. Counter: T1-2 Overwatch from water sides, T3 QRF. Prevent Access to Bridge Supports.

Good Checkpoint. Good Control. Lots Vision.

To Firestorm

"Firestorm 2 here. I agree with a bridge span, if we can find one. However, I think that we should set up at the end of a bridge.. While that gives us less field-of-fire, it also means we're less likely to get civilian crush, while still being unable to be taken by surprise from behind.

"I want to make one thing very clear, because some people seem confused, these people are not the enemy, they're just scared, even the ones that'll be shooting at us, they're just scared. If anyone on this team hurts or maims anybody beyond necessity, you can consider me your enemy, is that understood?"

Avalanche

Christopher here, your frienly local CSU chairman. I'm volunteering to be the melee and movement specialist, as I have the most advanced close combat weaponry, and an MkIII suit, alright? So call me if you want heavily lifting, flying or cutting done.

We're waiting on vets' orders, which probably supersede our ideas. But that sounds good, we may as well at least patrol the sky while they deliberate.

We could go fly above a poor-looking neighborhood, distribute alms and propaganda. We could hover low, send aph down with a few guards, and spread the revolution talk to people.

Well said. Calm and fair, win them over. They're prospective refugees, after all.

Teal Typhoon 1/Anthony to Teal Typhoon All:

"Who here is good with guns? We should have the laser turret manned at all times. Nothing like some close air support.

You should all have a sharksuit,  goop grenades, electronades, a stunstick, some Aster-ex with short range detonators, and a flare gun with flares. I also have two cans of medifoam for whoever is better at medical stuff and three scout eyes. If you are decent with computers and want one, let me know."

Well, it only hates Linux for now. If we could condition it to hate computer viruses, than hooray! Free, brutal virus protection! Unless you have Linux!

"i-i'm sorry guys, but I agree with her.  we can't just go around hurting innocent people!  let's work together in a way that doesn't put civilians in danger.  i know you guys wouldn't hurt someone innocent on purpose... right?

umm by the way, would you be willing to take the turret?"

White Blizzard 2/Cthunkan

Firestorm, this is Blizzard 2. Reading you in a literal sense. Counteroffer - a less inhabited area, whether cleared by our hand or naturally uninhabited. Rob them of home ground advantage as much as possible, try to avoid standard urban combat situations.

We also might want to make a first decisive strike, send the local warlords reeling. Don't give them time to group up against us. Then pick up whoever's left at the end. Over.

Doesn't look like there'll be very much barricade material here unless we demolish houses. The whole floating-shanty thing also worries me, I don't want a stampeding mob to lead to hundreds of drownings. Oy fakatka...
