Heroic Expedient Response Operation: The Beginning (IC Thread)
« on: January 30, 2016, 07:12:29 pm »

Megalopolis F, one of the many incredibly large cities dotted all over the world. A city bustling with life and technology, with people constantly on the move, going from work to home and back again.

All in all, a mostly unremarkable city, ignoring it’s sheer size, if it weren’t for one simple fact.

Megalopolis F has the single largest concentration of powered individuals in the world.

No one is quite sure what caused this. Some people theorise that, whatever the Turning Point was, Megalopolis F was the closest to the cause, and was directly affected as a result.

While the amount of Mysterious Beings that appear in this city does not seem to dispute it, nobody knows quite enough about the Turning Point to confirm or deny whether there is any truth in that particular theory, and so it is, for the most part, left unmentioned.

It is also important to note that this concentration of powered individuals has led to an incredible amount of small independent gangs popping up all over the Megalopolis, be they of heroes, villains or mercenaries, not even counting the many people recruited by the Heroic Union.

The Heroic Union was an organisation set up by the governments of the various cities after the Turning Point, in order to even the odds against the threats most Mysterious Beings and Monsters posed, as well as to take in and support powered individuals.

Of course, some prefer to stay independent, and never join the Union to begin with, taking justice into their own hands, patrolling the streets and dealing with criminals as they see fit.

Today, the Union has received several reports of a disturbance involving extranormal activity in the suburbs. Believing it to be nothing important, they sent some of their newest recruits in.

Whether or not they’re right remains to be seen.

Kira, as usual, was trying to look intimidating whilst being dwarfed by Black Eclipse.

Nicole is one of those heroes sent in by the Union, and is probably with the others. She works best in a team, and the Union knew that. She addresses her fellow recruits. "So, who are we waiting on?"

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Gerald would already be in the field, investigating the reports to give information to Nicole. He would be limping slightly from a injury. The source? Unknown as of yet.

Black Eclipse himself is, of course, being very tall and dark and intimidating-looking...
And bearhugging Kira, which ruins the effect completely.

By summoning, sending out, and dispelling spies across the city, Literally Unlimited Minions gets the idea that something may or may not be happening in the suburbs, or it might be the app on his phone from that "union" thing, either way, he is bored, and needs to get some disgusting fastfood for breakfast, so he heads out, He puts on his robe and wizard hat.

Blokkere jogged up, using his Swiftsoles to full effect, in his simple costume, actively fixing his red hair as he ran. "Oh man, oh man, most inopportune time for a nap, huh?" He muttered to himself, before jogging up to the others. Blokkere had been in the Union for a couple of months now -- he wasn't ENTIRELY new blood but was still fairly fresh, all things considered. He reached the group, and began to speak. "Well, hey, I'm somehow not late, that's goo-" he glanced at Nicole and her costume and IMMEDIATELY looked away, before looking back sheepishly. 'Don't staaaare', he thought to himself.

Black Eclipse gave Kira one last snuggle with his head before setting her down, and turned to look at Nicole with a... smile on his face? It was hard to tell with the, ah, lizard maw. He certainly seemed happy.

Calvin arrives, walking just as slowly as ever. His silver AK shimmers in the midmorning sun. Sweat pours off his face. He always hated these nice warm days. "Why couldn't it wait 'til night time?" He mumbles as he walks toward the disturbance. He rounds the next corner and sees Kira being bearhugged by BE, Gerald wandering around searching for clues with a slight and somewhat odd limp, Blokkere running up to the scene with a serious case of bedhead (How can any of them stand this heat?), and, of course, LUM's minions littering the streets sticking to literally everything. Not to mention Nicole looking as out of place as a neon green shirt in a black leather jacket party. Not that that was bad.

"So what's the goings on here?"

Seeing that there is no real escape from this and not wanting to hurt the giant lizard man's feelings, he accepts the hug. "Good to see you too buddy."

(Inconsistency: Gerald, black eclipse, and Kira are not in the same location Gerald is out in the field, while Kira and black eclipse are at HQ.)
