Staring down the complicated lock mechanism before it the occupant is determined to defeat it and escape.

The lock is made of six parts that can be; spun two directions to three positions, and pulled to three depths.

The lock is in lowest first position for all six parts.

The occupant smashes against the lock quite ineffectively.

Inspect rest of room.

What material is the lock made out of? What material is the door made out of? The walls? The floor? The ceiling?

The occupant pulls the first part all the way to the top position.

The lock is made of six parts that can be; spun two directions to three positions, and pulled to three depths.
The door is , the walls are , the floor is , the ceiling is .

The occupant attempts to whistle the lock open for a few hours.

The lock is quite stubborn and refuses to vibrate harmonically in a uniform way.

Bang against the door in an attempt to summon our captor.

The occupant strikes out against the  door  to attract  its  captors, and  its  captors cannot be summoned .

Spin the lock to the 3rd position.  Pull the lock to the 3rd depth.

The occupant runs towards the wall, and  into the  wall   , physics remains quite consistent.

The occupant tries to spin and pull the lock, but the lock does not actually move.

The lock is made of six parts that can be; spun two directions to three positions, and pulled to three depths.

The first part is pulled fully out in the first position, and the other five are fully in in the first position.

Err right.  Sorry.  Does this work?

Pull the second part to the 2nd depth, pull the 3rd through 5th parts to the 3rd depth.  Spin the first three parts counter-clockwise to the third position.  Spin the last three parts clockwise to the second position.

The occupant manipulates the lock's parts.

The first part is up in the 3rd, the second part is in mid in the 3rd, the 3rd part is up in the 3rd, the fourth is up in the 2nd, the fifth is up in the 2nd, the sixth is down in the 2nd.
