Oh guys sorry! I discovered a bug and the updater was not updating  ::)     Now it's doing the name substitutions:

@Button Thanks

@Quiet-Sun I hope to have more time to check it out later, but I did run it once using my set (since I am familiar with what is and isn't in there). The spoiler contains the results I got for "Names_in_Raws_not_in_Set.txt," . . . *ahem* Apparently I exceeded the maximum allowed length for a post with that spoiler.

Anyways, at a quick glance, the Names_in_Raws_not_in_Set.txt seem to list everything I DO have in the set contrary to its name. My "Names_in_Set_not_in_Raws.txt" was blank, so it looks like the text file names are just reversed, but I thought it was going to call out some of the names I have in there that I know are outdated (which it didn't).

My "Name_Changes.txt" was also blank, but I didn't expect there to be any outdated names.

Aside from what I got above - my image files and definitions were untouched.

Hi Burned!  Thank you for trying.  You have been very helpful all throughout this process and I appreciate it very much!

I suspect there is a problem with the paths in the application.  I will upload a new version later that writes more stuff in the files to see if we can isolate the problem.  In the meantime here is the output in my computer:

Name_Changes.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Names_in_Raws_not_in_Set.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Names_in_Set_not_in_Raws.txt
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Does it make sense?

Ok now it should print the full paths.  Please try and see if it works and the paths make sense:

The results for the three files you posted are correct; those are the results I expected to see sans the vermin. Ha!

Name_Changes.txt lists the TOAD_GIANT I left in, the Names_in_Raws_not_in_Set.txt lists all the animal people and giant animals I removed (plus vermin that have no tiles), and Names_in_Set_not_in_Raws.txt list one out of date creature (werewolf) and the temporarily removed scorpion.  While I think listing vermin is overkill, the script is correct as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately, I must be doing something wrong because I am not getting the results you are listing.

Name_Changes.txt is blank.
Names_in_Raws_not_in_Set.txt lists everything tile or no tile.
And, Names_in_Set_not_in_Raws.txt is blank.

Ok, I tried to fix the problem.  Can you please download it again and try.  This version should open a console window if you double click it and it should say that it's version 1.01.  Can you please give it a try and let me know?

I tried version 1.01 with the same results.

We can work this out via email to avoid turning this thread into a pattern of not working, try now replies.

Update: *a few emails later* The first step in the form of 1.02 works perfectly. Step two is in progress.

Hi All!

I just wanted to update the upload after cleaning the output files a little.  Burned was of great help and it seems to be working as inteded now.

This is the updater.  It's a tool for finding and correcting simple but easy-to-miss name changes (a space with an underscore, changing the order of words).   It will also give you a comprehensive list of all the differences between your set and the raws.  This way you can fix manually whatever is wrong and add whatever is needed.   A copy of spacefox is included for testing.

Now to finish up the standardizer!

Can I suggest starting a new thread for this, since it's not only relevant to the df-graphics organisation?

(It would also be good to host code on Github or similar, or at least binaries on DFFD)

Yes! I'm almost done with the standardizer.  Things are already on github, but I was waiting to be done with the standardizer to open a new thread with the updater, the standardizer, and the tile resizer.   It will be an awesome mega-combo of applications that is going to make our lives much easier from now on  8)  You can expect to see it over the weekend.

Once this thread is up I will post here my suggestions regarding the repository.  Sorry of kind of hijacking this thread temporarily, but I was not completely sure I could make it work, but I did and it's great! more soon!

Excerpted from a recent PM I received - an additional 12x16 Spacefox tileset.

I'm Das24680 from YouTube and you had kindly linked my tutorial series into your Starter Pack.

I'm in the middle of quite an epic series at the moment on YouTube and have tweaked a few elements within DF. I post the links online to my personalised files but I still get questions from people on why my version looks different to theirs. Recently I've revised the Spacefox text to make it 12x16 which makes portions of the game much more legible (trading etc) so was wondering if you wanted to include it in your pack along with some of the other files I use? No problem if you prefer to not include the files. :)

Link to the Spacefox 12x16 Text is http://www.mediafire.com/view/ym7n9bn6x6z160n/Das_Spacefox_Text.png

By the way, did fricy mention to anyone that he was going to be away? He hasn't logged onto the forum or github in 2 weeks. I'm getting a little worried.

Ok, ok, I'll get on it. It will be needed anyways, since I won't have much time on my hand between April-August. I'll make a thread for the repo, and create an organization on Github with all the individual packs, so others can keep the flame going when I'm not around.

But, I'm not sure if his recent absence is related.
