Study and attempt to replicate the golems.

We know how to make lesser arrays, but I believe that we hit some sort of limit on the number of them...
Our limit is the number of them in a single network. The more arrays in a network the more efficient they are. We have one maxed out network, I want to make a second one and double our mana income.

Make a banana out of stone. Realize we don't know what a banana is. Be confused.

Try to make a larger mana array; as in scale up, on an unused section of space, the one we know already to take up 16 space and see if that makes any difference in mana output.

The discovery of a brand new array leads you to desire a greater mana income with which you can use to build, and operate this strange array. You spend a year manipulating the earth to construct a second mana gathering network on your surface which leads to the mana flowing into you doubling, a result that causes you to feel flooded with new strength though such a feeling only lasts a short while. Having finished that you turn to experimenting with the mana gathering array to try and make them draw more mana for your use from the cosmos with your first attempt being to scale the entire array to a larger size. The result is an array twice the size with the exact same output which leads you to realize that for this array the size of it doesn't matter so long as you're able to fit the entire array in the space which is perhaps why the arrays are their current size.

With that proving to hold no results you turn your attention to the symbols, and lines that make the array up hoping to think of a way to fix them only to be stumped by a lack of understanding on what the symbols actually are. You know if you can learn those symbols then perhaps you could improve what you have now.

Your attempts at strengthening your mana arrays thwarted, you turn your sights on the two golems inside of the dead being's base out of curiosity hoping to understand what exactly they are and if they can be used for your own purposes. It takes only moments for you to realize what they are as once your mind touches the golems they stir to life as a thought returns to you describing a readiness to accept orders followed by a slight, almost imperceptible drain on your mana that seems to fill the golems with power. Ordering them to stand still you begin study them in depth, carefully observing the mesh of symbols and lines that cover their bodies which now glow dimly to your perception due to the mana coursing through their bodies.

It takes you nigh on a decade to understand the golems well enough to replicate their designs, a feat prolonged entirely due to your lack of knowledge on the strange language used to animate these beings which seems to match that of the arrays you know. Once you finish understanding how to replicate the golems you find your being filled with mana and finally capable of constructing the dead being's teleportation array which you set to immediately.

You activate Earth Movement on a grand scale as you carve an array the size of a city on your surface while filling the correct locations with mana to activate the more important ruins of the creation which begins to glow a brilliant blue light with the passage of time. A sense of accomplishment feels you as you carve the last line of the array on your surface to be quickly replaced with a shocking pain that stabbed through your entire being, in moments you feel your perception collapse and your thoughts become sluggish as you feel your entire being drawing itself in to deal with the shock of lacking even a single drop of mana.

As the pain spreads and you feel your being start to fade you strike out in a fit of desperation as you start to absorb mana furiously from some of the imbued crystal deposits within causing a vast pool of mana to flood into your being before the pain finally fades. After a long time you find yourself capable of reforming your perception, and you feel your mana capacity having grown from this painful experience.

Stick one of the (Premade) Golems in the teleporter, and have it scout on the other side, it should return to the direct point where the Teleporter leads at the end of a three year period so we can retrieve it.

Meanwhile we can build large quantitys of Golems and have them make Lesser Mana Gathering Arrays!

Attempt to somewhat isolate a section of self. If the golem chamber had lead then that might help... On that section, build a mana collection array. Then experiment by removing symbols, or replacing one symbol with another, or enlarging a symbol. Attempt to isolate the effects of different portions of the array by breaking them and seeing what happens...

Deconstruct the unneeded parts of the enlarged mana array, so that is its the size of a normal array.

Also, search another room

Do not search another room. Send out golem for three years. Experiment on a seperated section of self with mana arrays; see if they can become smaller. If not, attempt to discover what each rune does.

With your newly found minions at your disposal, and the teleportation array successfully made, you decide to send one of the golems through for a period of three years to investigate this foreign planet before returning so you can see what it managed to discover in that time. Choosing one of the two golems at random, you send it to the surface and to the edge of the array before funneling the needed mana into the array causing the portion of your surface covered by it to begin to crackle with a purple electricity that swiftly surges towards the center to form an oval shape big enough for ten of the golems to walk through abreast. Shortly after the oval takes shape the space in the center of it begins to visibly distort and ripple before beginning to shatter like glass, each piece of space that falls away giving way to a dull brown landscape that quickly forms into a barren wasteland as the portal stabilizes.

You can feel an intense heat pouring from the portal along with a heavy wind, and piles of dust carried upon that wind. You're confused momentarily by the difference between this landscape and what the dead sage had shown in that book, but quickly brush the question of it aside as the golem's search will likely bring the answer to that question after its expedition. Giving the order to search the world beyond the portal for three years before returning to where the portal leads, you send the golem through and quickly halt the array causing the gate to collapse in moments.

---

During the three years you have to wait you set about creating more of the stone golems you had discovered, and after dedicating almost half of your Mana to their creation you find thirty-six new golems awaiting your orders. You briefly contemplate ordering them to create mana arrays, but quickly dismiss the idea as the golems aren't capable of the precision required to create the arrays. Afterwards you think of improving the golems combat abilities, but are unsure how to proceed as there are numerous possibilities for that from the creation of weapons to attempting to improve the golems bodies to enhancing the arrays that give them life.

You spend the rest of the three years working on increasing your understanding of the mana gathering arrays as well as attempting to somehow make make them in a smaller form. While you do make some headway in potentially making the arrays smaller you are hampered by your slow progress on understanding what the individual symbols of the array mean, and thus over the course of three years you make very little progress at all.

---

Finally it comes time for the golem's return, and you activate the array once more causing the same scene you had witnessed the first time though this time instead of an empty wasteland what awaits you is the sight of an armless golem standing in the middle of the dusty plains. The construct stumbles through the portal, and you hastily close it behind him to keep whatever may have done this off your surface for the time being. Curious as to what the golem had discovered you interface with it and watch its three years of exploration as if you were the golem.

After the portal closed the golem had spent weeks traveling through an empty wasteland with the heat of the world beating down on it until at last it could see a massive crystal dome that seemed to cover a vast section of the land equivalent to your own surface. As it continued towards this dome their would periodically be strange cylindrical pieces of metal with rounded tops fly straight up into the sky while others would come hurtling down to the surface only to slow down at the last moment before entering the dome. Months passed by, but finally the golem had navigated its way to the dome only to be stopped by strange six legged creatures wielding strange metal sticks covered in symbols that vaguely remind you of the arrays you can construct. One of the creatures clashed its mandibles and pointed it's stick at the golem.

Shortly after it clashed its mandibles again which was swiftly followed by the metal stick releasing a flash after which the golem stumbled from the impact of something smashing into its shoulder which caused it to sense danger, and flee in order to return what it knew to you. What followed was a week of the golem being chased by these strange creatures and being shot repeatedly by the metal sticks which then reached its climax when the golem noticed a triangular metal construct tearing through the air. Before it could react the metal construct suddenly lit up and the bolem felt dozens of impacts as its arms were torn to shreds, and its torso severely damage leading it to collapse on the spot.

After this attack the golem could not move for what you estimate for a year until finally it mustered the last vestiges of its mana to stumble back to the portal, and deliver this to you. Once the memories end you watch the golem collapse on the spot followed by the dim light coming from its body to end completely, it had at last succumbed to the damage wrought to it, but only after delivering that which you had requested ...

-why not attempt to specialise our golems? What I mean is make golems to carve unpowered golems for us, golems to mine, you get the idea.
-move a large chunk of iron and see if that would work for createing a golem.
-same as above, only using Mana Iron.
