3 December, 936 Anno Domini
"You look-different my Liege".
"You too Cyndyddan".

King and Bishop pondered for a moment.

"New crown?"
"New beard?"



"Oh, that's it. Anyway, what's the plan for today?"
"My liege, reports have come in of some gross-looking peasants in Devon. I recommend hiring a Court Physician to ensure nobody important dies."

"Start the search then. How goes the Crusade?"
"Too early to tell my Liege. The Caliph has twenty thousand men and is half the world away. I despair of the Crusade's success, to be honest. Our armies will stagger into the Holy Land a few hundred at a time and be picked off by the unified Saracens."
"Well, we can Deus Vult right here at home. Call the banners, we march on Jorvik."
"Are you sure my Liege, the Danes will join them."
"The Danes are fighting their own war against the Geats. We march on Jorvik."


8 January, 937 Anno Domini
We trap the Norse army in the town of Boston and surrounding fields. We hammer the disorganized pagans with repeated longbow volleys from the woods, followed by light cavalry and infantry riding down the survivors, only to melt away again.


22 January
After almost a month of constant fighting in the bitter cold, the Nords break and run for Jorvik in a disorganized, scattered retreat. We move in to pursue and siege. We also manage to find a drunken eunuch lying round who seems to know about medicine. Better than nothing.

The Long-Suffering Adventures of King Mihangel

20 November, 937

After a lengthy siege, we have broken the gates of Jorvik and captured it. However, a thousand Danes have landed in Lincoln to support King Bertil of Jorvik. I should apologize to Cyndyddan, the Danes are helping the Jorvik Norse. The point is, the Danes were crushed and driven back into the sea by Holy Warriors of God and Cymru.


The Norse of Jorvik are similarly slaughtered a few short months later.


8 Feburary, 838
I WILL RIP YOUR SOUL INTO LITTLE PIECES AND WIPE MY ASS WITH YOUR BEARD!

In other news, the Crusade continues to be a dismal failure.

So, as you guys know, updates have been spotty. They are also shorter than usual, and I'm not happy with the quality of the writing in them. I don't have as much time for this as before, and it's not really feeling fun for me at the moment. Therefore, I must reluctantly place it on hiatus. Hopefully it can come back as the school year winds down. I can post the save if anyone wants to take a crack at it, but for now, I have to sadly say goodbye to the Aberffraws.
