This story is wonderfull. Really.

Urist reminds me alot of Misery. I've only seen the movie, though.

Please don't kill Melbil.. I really like him.

I'd just like to add my congratulations. I'm an inexperienced player and as such am amazed at what you've achieved with just one dwarf - it's more than I've managed with seventy-five!

Absolutely brilliant, keep up the great work.

I also note with interest the number of TaleWorlds members here. Hey Momaw, Poil, TotalPigeon.

Apologies for the continuation of the derail. I've enjoyed your story thus far as well and am looking forward to the continuation, assuming it ever comes.  :p

Google is your friend.
And it would have saved two off-topics posts.
Yeah, three.

Eiba, please come back! The story seems like it's pretty close to the conclusion, don't let it die now!

Stuff happened, it's not dead, it is 4:45 AM- I have half of my planned half-update written, but really need to sleep. Next time I'm online at all I should post something. That should be tomorrow, but, as I've repeatedly demonstrated, I absolutely suck at being punctual (my school papers and such have the same problem... in fact late papers are the only reason I don't get all A's...)

And unfortunately this isn't really anywhere near a conclusion. My plan for finishing it quicker rather than later was to first document up to Urist getting set up by the magma flow, and then have some sort of time skip until something interesting like a human invasion happens. I could play this all much faster if I wasn't taking pictures and writing updates (not that I'm doing the latter, it seems), so I could cover a lot more ground...

I have a couple other ideas... But I am really sorry to drag out the updates like this... It's got to hurt the continuity of the story, besides being really annoying...

Whew, just finished reading all of it thus far...

Take it easy, Eiba! The stressed caused from being worried about working on the story will probably lower its quality so... relax! I think most of us here can stand waiting a bit for an update. I think most are just thinking "Is Eiba on fire? Did Urist die? What is going on in this crazy, mad-dwarfless world!?"

I think, when you do get to finish it, somebody could take it and organize it into pages and such; like Boatmurdered's saga. Hell, maybe you'll get fan art too! I'd submit some but you know. No artistic talent. XD

And thanks for the story! Magnificent read. More dark humor/horror then a lot of Stephen King's work even. You could be a great author.  :D

Urist's tale saved me one morning when I woke up three hours early and couldn't sleep from the horrible humidity; I sat down here and just read non-stop, a hearty drink in one hand and a rapidly spinning mouse wheel in the other.

I'd just like to mention that I love the way the story is going, and even if it takes you a long time to update, I'm glad that at least you've been intending to update. It always gets on my nerves when a good author up-and-ditches a good story. So I'll be looking forward to an update, whether it be tomorrow or a year from now.

I've tried making a hermite a few times, but I have failed miserably.

You're good!

I've tried a couple times, and I found that playing a hermit game was actually quite easy compared to running a large fortress.  The most important things are to know what you're doing and to not let the jobs list grow too long.

Unfortunately, both my hermits came to swift ends: the first was ambushed by a fire imp while setting up a magma smelter (he killed it but was severely wounded and just sat in place until he starved), and the second was cleaning out the caravan death trap when something pulled the lever.
