I believe that is one that comes with DF.

The one I use is curses_square_16x16 which the one Eiba uses is based off of, I believe.

The default fonts for DF are not square.
The wiki however offers square fonts which work great with the graphics which are also square.

But what do I know?
Everything I say should be taken with atleast 1 tsp. of salt, and another liter of Dwarven Wine is recommended.

I did not say it was default. I said I believe it comes with DF. there are several tilesets that come with DF, if you would look in the proper folder of a clean install...

DF comes with two fonts, 800x600 and 640x480, none of which are square, and those two are the default fonts.

As I said already *I believe* it comes with DF, quite possible to be mistaken with what you believe...  You also just said what I said more or less, that there is more then one tileset that comes with DF, though I thought there were more.

Anyway, it seems we are down to mincing words so why not let's stop derailing the thread? (notice I said let's which includes me  ;) )

I was reading this thread from the beggining and I can tell you now : I love it ! You're a very good story-teller, really.
About that "Melbil killed Urist" thing, it could have been fun to go on with the story. It's more exciting when things that are not supposed to happen happen...No ?

still loving the story.  Ive tried a few hermits of my own since it started, and so far I've killed one with thirst in the desert and crushed another beneath her own drawbridge.

How do you do THAT? Honestly, how?

And to Eiba, what's with the lack of Urist's hermitage progress? (We still love the story, but updates being sparse is, well, bad.)

I was like, ha, this looks like a pretty dumb and boring game. I was so wrong. Gentlemen, I have discovered true fun.

Well, err... you see... I umm...

My internet was disconnected due to some sort of "report of copyright violation" (I'm at college, by the way)... I just got that all sorted out earlier today, so... Yeah.

I think it's to late to write an update tonight, but updates should resume shortly...
(For the record, I do love writing this, and infrequent updates are purely a result of unfortunate real-life circumstances, and not a sign of this being slowly abandoned...)

That totally happened to Urist once... Exept it was the retractible bridge over the river... and she drowned... Of course, I just quietly reloaded the last save and no one ever heard about it...

Well, yes- if it had happened during actual gameplay, perhaps- but I had done other ridiculous stuff that was just a matter of testing out how things would work (none of it properly documented/screenshotted). Generally I do try to keep from reloading when I'm actually playing, to keep things authentic... But sometimes... For example, when Urist drowned once as I mentioned above, I just got the "your settlement has crumbled to its end" message... That wouldn't be too fun...

For the record, outside of my tests (including once when I hit the pits... that was actually pretty funny), I've only quit a viable game to reload an old save once- I wanted the immigration wave Melbil came in to have a miner with it to start the secondary fort, and it didn't first time around...

Anyway, thanks a great deal for the praise to those who gave it! I hope I'll be updating a bit more frequently soon!

Urist got shut down for copyright infringement  :(

Well, I knew she had to be doing SOMETHING in that cave that we didn't know about.

(She pirated engravings)
