Hello, I have a week of spare time that I might use to contribute here. I have a thirst for Nomic, even though I see that there hasn't really been any activity here for a month. I guess I'm taking this game here to be more or less that proper Nomic game to jump into. It seems to be a temporal successor to: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=155237.0. If there's a more active game of Nomic elsewhere here that I've missed, please point me there and forgive my intrusion.

If not, I'll make a modest contribution here, in hopes of stirring up activity.

The proposal I'm making makes an awful lot of changes to the game as it stands. It essentially changes the original role of The Imperial Emperor entirely. Oh dear.

I therefore submit my proposal to make the following amendments to the laws of The Game of Imperial Nomic:

The addition of a new law 0.1:
"Anything not regulated or prohibited by these laws is unregulated and permitted by them."

The addition of a new law 1a:
"Any player holding the office of The Imperial Emperor is incapable of receiving the title of The Exalted Winner."

The total obliteration of the contents of law 3, and the replacements of its contents as follows:
"Changes to the laws of Imperial Nomic is only possible in accordance with the laws of Imperial Nomic."

The amendment of law 2, to make it read:
"Players make Proposals to change the laws of the game. A Proposal is submitted by posting to the thread. Proposals must contain the phrase: "I (player name) hereby propose...". Players enter the game upon reception of their first submission"

The addition of a new law 3a:
"The laws may be changed by a majority vote of all registered players. Acceptable votes are FOR, AGAINST, or ABSTAIN. Players who do not vote within 1 day of a called vote are understood to have cast an ABSTAIN vote. A vote is understood to have been called for once a proposal has been proposed. Proposals approved in this manner take effect immediately."

The addition of a new law 3b:
"Following the approval of a proposal, The Imperial Emperor is encouraged make a ruling as to whether the change of the laws is appropriate for the current ruleset. He/she has 1 day to submit his/her ruling. If and only if The Imperial Emperor finds a paradox or a conflict between laws directly resulting from the approval of a given proposal, he/she may immediately render void the offending parts of the proposal. No other parts of the ruleset other than the proposal being judged can be affected or effected by The Imperial Emperor while making a ruling.
Parts of laws rendered void are designated by being struck through. They remain part of the text of the ruleset, even though they hold no legal power."

The amendment of law 10, to make it read:
"If a proposal is approved, the player that submitted that proposal gains 10 points of favor."

The total obliteration of law 13.

Is that an acceptance of my proposal?
