Would you like this shirt?
« on: January 18, 2016, 07:33:56 pm »

Here's is the link for the shirt, https://www.teepublic.com/show/397265-draw-me-like-your-french-girls

I was thinking of gifting this to a friend, but I don't know if she would like this? Please criticize to your hearts content!
I will be grateful to everyone who helps me decide if this is a good investment. :P

Not knowing about the friend in question, I'd lean towards no, unless she's a Titanic and Frozen fan.

Yes. If she doesn't like it, wear it proudly.

Strife's got the right of it. It depends entirely on whether she likes those films and unironically appreciates unfunny print T-shirts. General rule of thumb for gifts is that if it's not fairly universal and not something you specifically know the recipient wants/will appreciate, you're taking a chance.

Honestly, nah. If I were receiving a gift, I wouldn't actually mind what the gift was because it was free, though you on the other hand might wanna spend money buying a shirt she'd like.

Which we wouldn't know.... Does she have any preferences? Favorite band, movie, game, etc?

TBH if someone gifts me clothes I'd rather get something tasteful, comfortable, and well-made rather than an obvious attempt to pander to my interests. I'm not that girl so I can't speak for her, but that's something to keep in mind.

No please don't buy that. If you're going to buy clothes just buy some decent ones that are maybe somewhat unusual.

It earned a chuckle from me. But it's not something I'd ever wear.

"I wonder would she like this?"
*asks people who don't know her*

You might be asking the wrong people?

I would literally declare vendetta against the bloodline of any person who attempted to give me that.

I've bought on impulse a few one-joke t-shirts and pretty much immediately regretted each one.   They're relegated to last-in-line laundry day duty, or yeah something to wear over other t-shirts when doing something messy.

Geez $27 with shipping, for *one* t-shirt?   Plus, giving clothes TO a girl?  That's competing right into her area of expertise.  Yeaaaah, unless you're 100% positive that this is the one and only thing she's been dying to receive, I'd go back to shopping....

And here I was expecting it to be a Jarl Balgruff joke, given the youtube series...

(Check out Skyrim Poop series. Not suitable for linkage though. Too much adult content.)

Hello, me.

But yeah. Those print t-shirts you thought were funny when you were 13? They ain't. Those print t-shirts you thought were quirky and rebellious when you were 17? They ain't. Those print t-shirts that seemed like great in-jokes when you were 20? They ain't. There's a word for print t-shirts, and it's "painting shirts".
