Framing it as a question along the lines of "how many innocent people are you willing to kill in order to kill some guilty ones" tends to confuse people.

And you get the reply "None because we'll only kill people who are guaranteed to be guilty"

EDIT: Girlinhat, the creator of the legendary "Dwarven Child Care", has been absent from these internet halls for seven years.

Every time I find someone I recognise gone for so long, it feels like I'm walking through a place I used to live and finding another building that I used to know demolished.

Well that's not how I planned to spend my Saturday afternoon.

Dislocated kneecap, I now have a new baseline for a "10" on the pain scale.  Worst part was waiting so long for the scans to make sure I didn't obviously destroy any ligaments; once they reduced it back into place it was much better.  Well, perhaps; worst part might have been the ego contusion. 

Yay for several weeks of an immobilizer brace... and for the bill  (Yes, the US medical system is a mess.)

got hit with a couple hundred dollar auto-subscription this morning.   

Bank is closed cant even discuss why the hell theyd approve that into a largely inactive account that doesnt even have several hundred to cover that payment

Had to shave off my beard today because I've started stress plucking it and giving myself small bald patches.

My cell phone company is displaying its incompetence.  For the past two months, I've gotten "you only have 10% remaining of your 9999.0 GB quota for wireless hotspot in this billing cycle. Your cycle resets on the 6th of each month" text messages.

So the incompetence is that we have a 30GB/month limit on 4G hotspot data, according to our account page, but unlimited 5G non-hotspot data.  So the message is misleading because we're within 10% of the 30GB limit, not the 10000GB "unlimited" limit.  Add additional confusing data though, because our plan on that line has "25 GB premium mobile hotspot data, then unlimited lower-speed data."  So their own status page claims 25GB in one place and 30GB in another.

I'm not even worried about overages; they just throttle the connection past the limit.  Well, I'm slightly worried, because who knows what information is correct...

Hahahaha this is the US cellular system... I don't think there is such a thing...

ATT got a lot more respectful once I unlocked my
phone...  paid cash and they 'lock' phones to the carrier by default, so if you buy it on a payment plan they force you to use that.  but because I outright own my phone I unlocked it and they quickly became very transparent

But, tbh, a lot of carriers are owned by the same ppl.  Just with a different hat on
