You see: them writing colour stems readily apparantly from some lost normannic monk and insulary folks being insulary. But if you write esophagitis, you're actually pointing towards another etymologic root (which ironically enough, could fit without altering the meaning too much), so you are distorting the meaning.

Could quite easily be insecurity about something and they’re looking for validation from other people on their timeline.

I’m saying that they got that confidence from being successful in other areas of life. Maybe they were popular in school or a star student. Maybe they got a job that they are satisfied with. Maybe they’re surrounded by friends who tell them how great they are.

Confidence can come from a lot of places.

One of the arts of confidence is not caring what other people think. It's a skill, with uncertain pay offs. When it works, you look confident. When it doesn't, you look delusional.

Though yeah, a lot of the folks posting like that very much aren't confident. They're doing it due to various sorts of pressures or attempts to find validation, but you occasionally see admission from some that the entire process is actually deeply uncomfortable, they're just... doing it anyway.
