1. All gas was handled by private companies, and most citizens used wood or coal as fuel for their houses.
2. Nunzillor answered correctly.
3. There will be major differences between the two timelines; Germany is a powerhouse; there was no Cold War, nuclear weapons were never invented, colonialism is still alive, the USA is a great power but not THE great power (same with USSR), etc.
Military tech is much less advanced due to WW2 never occurring; there may be basic handheld rocket launchers that exist, but no mass produced RPGs. Jet engines don't exist yet either, and tank technology is not quite as advanced as during ww2 (no heavy tanks, but good light tanks exist). Eastern Europe never fell under the Iron Curtain, with Poland and many other Eastern European countries still existing. The sino-Japanese war occurred, leading to Japan's rise as a powerful eastern power and eastern China falling under their control, allowing previously subjugated regions to claim independence. Britain is still at the peak of their colonial ambitions, while Germany was reformed by a hitler-like leader but never expanded aggressively into the Rhineland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, or Poland. The German people are still heavily bitter against the French and British over the treaty of Versailles, and there are fears that war may break out.

If you have any more questions regarding alternate history, feel free to ask. This was typed on my phone so it's probably really rambling.

Do you guys think that all deals with the Russians should be made through MoTru, or should I introduce the Russian ambassador to all your characters so that you can pursue your own deals with them?

In a nutshell.

So, Turn 7 is up. The Minister of Health has been fired and requires a replacement, while the Ministries of Candour and Ideology have been established. The Ministry of Finance will get the boot if he doesn't post next turn, and everyone else is fine. Let me know if I made any mistakes; I have a nagging sensation that I made a huge error and I just missed it.

Glory to Apland, comrades.

Glory to Apland indeed!  I actually sent Aigre a PM reminding him of the game a few days ago, but he never responded (despite being active enough on Einsteinian Roulette to try and kill his teammates).  Pretty sure he's out at this point, unfortunately.

Also, I'm not sure I understand this:

Income: +$42,600/week [+$11,400, Taxes]
Expenses: -$12,520/week
Balance: +$27,130/week

Shouldn't the end result be 42,600+11,400-12,520-7,270 (MoAD payments) = +$34,210 balance?  Or are there other hidden costs that I'm not accounting for?

Looked over it, and I do belive it should be $42,600 (income) + $11,400 (taxes) - $11,000 (wages) - $7270 (payment). The 12,520 figure was from last turn, and I believe the balance figure was from last turns income plus the taxes from this turn minus the expenses from last turn. In essence, a complete mess. Also, I never actually added the balance to your cash reserve; meaning your new wealth is getting changed to $42,600 + $11,400 - $18,270 + $97,045. Guess we found that big error I was worrying about.

Oh, huh.  No worries, mistakes in a game like this are inevitable I'm sure.  Thanks for fixing it.

Ah... question regarding the $200k from Iskra for the workshops/prisons.

Quote from: DontBanTheMan
1. The wealth should be spent on the expansion of the prisons and/or prison workshops, with no less than half of the provided cash being spent on the workshops in particular.

That's the first condition in the contract, and you've added a wee section so I know how much I've invested in regards to the prison(s), versus investment in the workshop(s).

Is there any punishment for not fulfilling this part of the contract? Also, I'd like to argue that spending on the workshop is technically spending on the prison, too :P

Anyway, question: what would constitute spending on the prison as per the contract?

Another thing that may have been missed is the "Museum of Truth" that the Ministry of Truth and the Ministry of Criminality were building. Unless I'm just silly and the "end of the week" means that you're going to process that for Turn 8.

Edit: though I did just notice the "Museum of Revolution" bit in my tab... sorry!

Thanks for the answers, and sorry for question 2. I should have checked the OP first.
On the timeline, has Germany openly broken the treaty of Versailles yet? If war does break out, will France be expected to win easily? Finally, how is Italy doing? Is it hungrily staring at the Balkans?

I would ask why fire can burn two men to death without getting hot enough to burn a book, but then I read "INEXTINGUISHABLE RUNNING KAMIKAZE RADIOACTIVE FLAMING ZOMBIE" and realized that logic, reason, and physics are all occupied with crying in the corner right now.

Any thoughts on how we can win this fight cause best I can come up with is letting our soldiers starve them out since loyalist have artillary and tank to use against us.

Trojan horse?

Spread rumours that we're attacking the local civilian population for supplies, send in a few of our guys dressed as hurt civvies and take it from there.

You need to spend $200,000 on either the workshops or prisons, but ATLEAST $100,000 on the workshops; meaning if you spend $200k on the workshops, you don't need to spend anything on the prisons. Spending cash on the prisons would be things like expanding their capacity or increasing security measures. You can get out of both by ONLY spending on the prison workshops, but you can't pretend that you spent $80,000 when you only spent $40,000 by spending on the workshops.

Thanks for the answers, and sorry for question 2. I should have checked the OP first.

Germany has not broken the Treaty of Versailles yet. France is not expected to win easily; just as in our timeline, Germany built itself into a military-industrial powerhouse. It's also probable that GB will join if war breaks out. Italy is very similar to our timeline; mounting political crisis following the disastrous Treay of Versailles. However, instead of the Fascists rising to power, the Italian Socialist Party took control of the government. It's far less authoritarian and aggressive than the Fascists, though is certainly not a democracy. Good relations with the Bolsheviks, bad ones with the Germans.

I'm not complaining, but I'm wondering if it should be legal for MoE and MoAD to seize money directly from other ministries?  Might set a bad precedent, perhaps.  I'm okay with it if that's what everyone wants, tho.
